I got the college football package a couple years ago but wouldn't do it again. For one thing all the games were in standard def, although that could have changed by now or it could have just been that my provider didn't carry the HD package. Like others have stated it seems like there's already plenty of good games on and ESPN3 carries many of the games that are aired on the package. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a fan of a specific team or conference that really gets coverage in your area that you know the package carries.

Apparently whoever made Menelik Watson of Florida State's conference championship rings from last season doesn't know what conference FSU plays in, or they wanted to make it seem like they're in a tougher conference:
[IMG] ![]() Oddly, it appears that Watson was the only FSU player to get a ring with the wrong conference on it and he will get a replacement ring. |

It should be one of the biggest non-criminal scandals in years, but for some reason the press is giving it very little coverage. It may just be that academic scandals aren't all that exciting, but there's a ton of evidence that grades were being changed, signatures were being forged, and some classes required little or no attendance, and it wasn't just athletes, it was some of the general student population. It obviously hasn't been kept completely under wraps since North Carolina got a bowl ban last year and a loss of scholarships, but it should be a bigger deal. The NCAA acted way too fast by banning UNC from a 2012 bowl because evidence is still coming out that is making UNC look even worse that could warrant further punishment.

Academics never get much publicity, but the NCAA still can come down hard. FSU got slapped a few years back (vacated 12 wins). UGA had their own about 10 years back, but it was really rather minor (about 5 players got credit for a class taught by the coaches son without attending).

Ohio State has reportedly dismissed leading rusher Carlos Hyde from the team. Hyde was listed as a person of interest in a police report from a weekend assault. Hyde had 970 yards rushing and 17 total touchdowns in 10 games last season.
Ohio State is also reviewing the status of starting cornerback Bradley Roby. Roby was arrested in connection with the assault Saturday night. Roby is one of the top returning cornerbacks in the country. http://buckeyextra.dispatch.com/cont...-football.html |

The Columbus Dispatch's report that Carlos Hyde has been dismissed from the team was incorrect, and instead Hyde has been suspended "from all football team activities pending the outcome of the student code of conduct and criminal investigations."
It was a busy weekend for Ohio State players. In addition to Hyde being investigated for an assault and Bradley Roby being arrested for battery there were also two arrests of incoming freshman players. Three-star defensive lineman Tim Gardner was arrested for "obstruction of official business" and will not be a member of the team in 2013 and four-star tight end Marcus Baugh was arrested for underage drinking and possession of a fake ID and will miss the first game of the season. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...hyde-from-team |
