Maybe the artwork doesn't matter to some, but I have to agree this cover art is pretty bad. It doesn't reflect the movie much at all. It also doesn't make any sense that the border is a faux gold color when every other Pixar 3 D blu-ray release has been silver. I sure hope the looks of this changes by the time it hits the market.

must have been the theater's setup, (which was less than ideal) but I wasn't completely wowed by the 3D presentation.

Absolutely. I am personally hoping for a store exclusive release with a better cover for the 3D edition. I don't know if Disney would change the cover art following the announcement, but this one is the worst of recent covers. It's simply not what the film is like at all. The 2D only cover art was great, too, featuring the official movie poster (and being a better representation of the spirit of the film).

I missed out on this at $22.49 when it first went up for pre-order as I was waiting for a Gold Box appearance. I noticed that it has now shot up to $44.99. What's the likelihood of it dropping to $22.49 again before release date? Or should I just wait a couple of months afterwards? I'm in no real rush, but want to make sure I get a slipcover - normally I throw them away without a second thought, but I have all my 3-D discs together and like the uniformity of the slips and the way they make that section stand out.

I watched this for free a second time recently, and I liked it much better on second viewing It really helped that I finally got to see Monster's Inc. in 3D beforehand at home (belated bday presents FTW! lol ) beforehand, so everything started clicking it into place and it's one of the best sequels/prequels Pixar has done imo.

I also thought the 3D looked great when I saw the movie the first time too, and I terribly missed seeing it in 3D during the 2D presentation of my second viewing lol

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't offered here unitl it was first posted on July 5, 2013 for pre-order. At that time the price was already up to $29.99. This happens a lot here to many first-time pre-order offerings where the Amazon.com site shows a lower price at an earlier date, but was never available for that price here on that earlier date.

Came here to read about this.

I was surprised when I saw that the lowest was $22.49 and not $29.99. I believe that was a price mistake (for the 2D version) and only lasted minutes. Same thing happened with 'Star Trek: Into Darkness Phaser Gift Set', it was $24.99 for 5 minutes then skyrocketed to $79.99.

Most of us missed it at that low. Did catch it 29.99 before it shot up to 44.99 (its down somewhat again to 34.99). I don't think it will go as low as 22.49 again before release. Perhaps as a Black Friday event

Ah, didn't know that $22.49 was an Amazon error, it seemed like a fantastic price for a Disney 3-D pre-order! Hopefully it'll drop to $29.99 again. Don't Amazon often offer coupons for Disney/Pixar releases?

Totally agree! It might be the first Pixar movie where I didn't think 3D was an afterthought.

I don't think I've ever paid $40 for a 3D Disney Blu-ray. Disney ALWAYS has coupons for the first week, and usually the stores discount more to the $30 price range.

Amazon is already down to $35 again.

It should since the Target and Best Buy ads have it listed for $29.99.

I think if there was to be a coupon, they all seem to be coming from Scott paper towels recently, we would already know about it.

So no coupon so far for this movie? I'm waiting for one!
