Hopefully they keep a solid advertising campaign for this one leading up to its December release. It has a lot of competition, and I REALLY want this one to do well...

Steve Conrad wrote The Weather Man which I really, really like but also The Pursuit of Happyness which I dislike.

IMDB says Sean Penn is 'rumored'. lol, put that 'rumor' to rest.

He's definitely a major part of the film. But it's almost better not to know...

He's prominent in the trailer and obviously seems incredibly important (you'd know!). Just thought it was funny that IMDB still has him listed as 'rumored'.

Loved this movie. Didn't expect much out of it going in, and there was a pretty big suspension of disbelief involved, but I didn't mind and I was left wanting more at the end. Day one buy for me, just so I can see all of the beautiful cinematography again on Blu.

Bumping this 'cause I finally caught it in the theater last night. I'll have to watch again when it hits home video, but my first impression is a 4/5, because I really like the way this film is put together. I think it is much more subtle and ambiguous than people are giving it credit for.

I'm particularly surprised, especially given all the comments I've seen online about

, that more consideration isn't given to the posssibility that

[Show spoiler]

.

I also like some of the things done with focus & depth of field as far as the camera work.

I felt the opposite

didn't care much for the Weather Man while Pursuit of Happyness was one of my favorite movies of that year.

Don't know much about this. Really excited to see a trailer though. My cinema sucks for trailers, so whenever it hits online will be the first I see it.

Yeah, The Weather Man was really good. Couldn't bring myself to watch The Pursuit of Happyness. Looked so stupid and sappy.

I mean, they've got a template since this has the same set-up of the previous film. Just need to modernize it. From what is shown, it looks to be cleverly conceptualized for today.

I think this looks fairly horrible. Of course, that may be because I think the vast majority of Ben Stiller films are awful. Looking at his filmography, I see about 2-3 films I actually like, and a couple I can tolerate, then a lot of crap.

It's not a typical Ben Stiller film. The ones he directs are generally better films too, so that's a great sign. Just give it a chance, you might be surprised...I'd say it looks, and feels, very much like a Cameron Crowe film.
