Another question. With HDMI input. Does it control everything. Let's say if I pop the BD movie in my PS3. Do all my components turn on automatically? like my receiver and TV. I use to have stand alone Sony BD with Bravia feature. I kind of like that.

WHAT!!! 7.2!?!?!

I just did a ton of rewiring and design to accomodate 7.1 with one subwoofer. So now I need the jacks for TWO subwoofers!!! This is madness!

You don't have to use 2 subs, but it does give you the option of using 2 with the 2 LFE outputs on the back.

Are the two subwoofers supposed to be placed front and back? The same signal is sent to both then? if so, it's just a gimmick.

same signal..... now as far as placement, it depends on the room.... as far as "gimmick" I don't think so, but I do think 99.9% of the people here can accomplish the desired effect with one good quality sub.

I ordered the Onkyo 605 last night: http://www.ecost.com/Detail.aspx?edp=38607351

It's on sale for $259.99 plus $30 shipping, so $290 total. I was debating between this one and the Sony, but I ended up going with this one after finding out that the Sony STR-DG720 has push plugs but no banana plugs, on the back. Also, the Onkyo 605 decodes TrueHD and DTS-HD onboard, which wouldn't necessarily be as useful now, but it definitely would if I got a standalone.

EDIT: It's refurbished but comes with a one-year warranty from Onkyo (parts and labor).
