I don't plan on installing games, but I guess there may be some games that really do benefit from that feature and I very well might decide to go down that route.

Also, i'm not sure how the 12.5mm for HDDs will affect me, but judging by the comments here, it seems its probably a positive thing to allow those higher capacity drives that didn't quite fit into PS3 because of 'headroom clearance'
