DisplayPort question

I was just wondering why no manufacturer ever included displayport on their equipement, slightly similar to the Denon link. DP has been at possibly higher levels than HDMI for a few years (I say that without necessarily understanding any of the fundamentals ). I know RBG is different but I prefer DP to run my 2560x1440 PC monitor (obviously at 1080p), just seems better somehow, and it's not wishful thinking.

So you guys could explain to me why not, and if it's a valid assessment.
