Thanks for the link. There are a few good bits of info in that interview which runs 28:50 long. It's good to see the "magazine rate" rumor which was wildly circulating the boards has finally been dispelled by TT.

Oh, and for those that might not know, it's The Digital Bits that the interviewer refuses to mention in his interview but is more than willing to criticize. Some one should have really told TDB, in advance, that they would be removed from TT's free screener list for criticism.

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/column...-twilight-time

As stated by Nick, "These web sites, it seems to me, exist to get free copies of the DVDs and Blu-rays for their own collection." Really? I was disappointed to see him go there.

I really hope Twilight Time will be a thing that comes and goes. People bring up laserdisc prices, this is like when Fox would charge $90 for "Special Widescreen Edition" movie only discs while the standard price was $40.

They've been selling Blu-rays for over 2 years now, and show no signs of slowing down.

Measured in number of posts, of course, because measured in pages the answer is always 1.

There should be one of those little store symbols (like Target and Best Buy have) for a Twlight Time release, so the rest of us can avoid what we know will be another discussion about Twilight Time itself.

I say "discussion" instead of "debate," because there's no real debate -- it sucks. I'm just amazed at the endless amount of energy spent revisiting the suckage.

I see some of the TT pr folks are ahead of us. There should be a law in place so no company can sell a blu ray for over a certain price.

Don't worry though, it will be available on Region B sooner or later at an acceptable (non rip off) price.

here'e what I don't understand... maybe someone could explain it to me without being a smartass because I really want to understand...

for years I've been on this site and there are virtually endless posts about people saying they won't pay over 10 bucks for newer releases, $5 for catalog titles, waiting for prices to drop again and again, trying to stack coupons and PM situations at stores, whining when something they bought drops a buck or two after something ships, etc etc etc etc

and yet here's a ton of people that all seem perfectly okay to pay over $30 for a zero featured catalog title....
am I in the Twilight Zone? this doesn't make sense to me...

They're PR.

TT place too much faith in the power of suggestion.

Suncoast and Borders were around for more than two years but eventually reality caught up to them. Rollerball has been released by CBS/Fox, then MGM/UA, now Twlight Time. I can hold off for an alternative or make due with my R2 disc. There are plenty of Blu-rays being sold at market prices I can accept missing out on this one at an inflated price.

What reality are you talking about?

Borders, the name is gone but a majority of stores were rebranded Barnes and Noble.

Suncoast still exists in a few areas too, if not most were rebranded FYE.

Some people have to be tight with their money and they want/need to wait for the best possible deal. It's all about saving money for most folks.

I guess I'm living in an area where Borders and Suncoast stores used to exist, sold items at prices well above their competitors and eventually went out of business.

Did Suncoast and Borders only sell titles that weren't available anywhere else?

MediaPlay is another media only store that comes to mind that went out of business years ago.

No. I would say that Twilight Time is not the only home video label.

No, they're not the only home video label. However, they're the only home video label that has released most of titles they've released so far.

funny thing is I would have no problem paying $20, many people here want catalog titles for $5..... I don't mind paying a reasonable price for movies, but this is just WRONG....
I'd honestly be ok with $35 if it *worth* 35. Great picture and audio quality, lots of extras, nice presentation and packaging... If Twilight Time were one of a major studio most of their releases would end up in the $5 bin.

Exactly, they're supposed to be a boutique label specializing in rare films but how rare are films like As Good As It Gets, The Fury, Christine, Rollerball, The Way We Were, Zulu, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Sleepless in Seattle, Body Double, Fright Night etc???????????

All the movies above are the sorts of movies that are currently in the Amazon UK 3 for £17 deal, hilarious stuff.
