This June I'll be buying the new PS3 80 GB version because I had to sell my 60 GB to pay some bills

I once moved my PS3 from one tv with component to another with HDMI and when i returned the PS3 to component tv it wouldn't display anything, later I found out that all you have to do is turn off the ps3 than turn on but holding the power button extra 3-5 seconds which reset the display to default. But I'm not sure if you could fix the 'disc not reading' problem. that problem happened to my friend and Sony gladly replaced his 60 GB with 80 GB, although it took couple of weeks for the process.

Damn BigRick, sorry to hear about the PS3, I guess I won't be seeing you on COD4 anytime soon. I'm guessing it happened due to all your Rainbow Six playing time, LOL

And it sux i cant copy the Vegas info over to my flash drive. I could only do the COD file. The Vegas 2 file has a copy protection which is BS!

Its not as bad as me. My hard drive in my PS3 went dead. I even tried to put it in a laptop to make sure it wasn't the PS3 and it didn't work either. I talked to Sony and they are sending me the box as we speak so I can send in the system for repair. I'm losing all my game saves which really sucks.

I don't own many games but I'm still upset about it. I had beaten Uncharted, Burnout 101%, COD, motorstorm, and was currently playing MLB 08: The Show. Not to mention the downloaded games that I owned, I almost forgot about those. I have about 5 PSN games. Wow, I feel even worse now.

Both of mine work flawlessly.
They have had a lot of heavy use in the past. Never had any issues with them whatsoever.
Maybe this is a sign to read a book?

I need your help! I got Sony not to charge me anything to repair my 60gb. They are sending me the coffin as we speak. Then i got BB sending me their coffin to send to them. BB is giving me a full refund of 599 plus tax in a gift card. Wife is telling me to take the G card and buy the 40gb and when the MGS 80gb comes out to just pay the diff with the remainder left on the G card. Then we would move the 40gb to the kids room. What would you guys do?

The 40gb is more quiet, but doesn't do SACD audio, if that is important to you.

It's a freakin sign Rick! your wife gave you permission to purchase a second PS3 and you are thinking about it? lol

I'd get the gc from BB, buy a 40GB and with the rest of the amount on the gc get the 80GB later this year.

It's just a suggestion buddy, or if not you can wait til Sony fixes you PS3 and I can tell you how GTA is and the MGS beta? lol

I got my cousin to let me borrow his PS3. So i will be in the beta boys and girls.

Don't hate on Sony, their failure rate for the PS3 is less than 1%....If you do want to hate, then hate microsoft's 13% failure rate for the xbox 360

I agree. Mine just gave out after 4 months of owning it. Same deal with the disks not working. Not to poke the flame, but my 360 that I had for nearly a year didn't give me any problems. I'm just pissed that this happens a week before GTA4 releases.
