Don't worry. Sometimes it take a couple days for it to reflect on your order. You WILL get the $19.96 price. Sometimes if the price lowers too close to release date or on release date, that difference will be refunded to you as well. This should be early enough, though, that the lower price will be reflected on your order before shipping.

Why did all that extension get cut out in the TE?

Great for the EE buyers, but everyone who spent hard earned cash on the TE got screwed as far as the low end portion of the audio goes if you have a sub that can hit hard to at least 20hz.

I would love to know what exactly happened to the TE though which I am sure we probably never will. Mistake? Intentional? Did they reduce the LFE filter on the EE due to the small but vocal bunch of bass heads who considered the TE one of the most disappointing low end experiences on blu? I would love to know, but sadly I doubt we ever will. Oh well, just glad I did not like the film more I suppose.

One question maybe Ken or someone else who has watched it can answer is does the anemic Stone Giant scene now have proper low end weight with the better bass track or not? This was the worst offender in the TE as far as the filter and I would hope this better extending EE made this scene (among others) more convincing (?).
the people at AVS didn't post the whole pic. The bottom part is cut off. The Orange and Green are the dynamics. THe blue and red are the actual Hz. But still, if the dynamics are like that going further down then that's good. we really don't need to see the bottom to see its better than before

Would you please put that in English?!? BTW Yojimbo is correct as it has happened to me on more than one occasion. Not sure why Amazon can't just change the price before they ship, but whatever.

If there's one thing DVD is still superior at than bluray, it's packaging. I have yet to see a bluray package that surpasses some of the classic DVD packages we've had.

And frankly i don't get it.

No one knows yet. They're sometimes not very good about advertising exclusives so we might not know until next week even.

I also got Amazon to honor the 19.96 on my pre-order via chat, but they were VERY resistant to doing so. And only agreed to "make an exception" in my case and change the price because I "was such a loyal customer."

Hopefully, all will be well with this pre-order like always, but based on my experience just now, I would not necessarily have faith that your pre-orders will reflect the price drop eventually.

I can post the chat transcript later if it will help.

And if someone can come up with the screen grab of the price drop, I feel that will come in handy for a lot of folks.

Amazon is really changing these days. You used to be able to get great deals there, now they make you jump through so many hoops.

Ryan, packaging is a valid point of discussion. This is a publically posted thread. It's an open forum. If you get bothered by what people think and say, don't open the door. Maybe you should get a room with Glamdring7920 - he doesn't want people talking about Amazon, you don't want people talking about packaging. Perhaps you two could come up with an "acceptable topic list". Until then, again : it's a free, OPEN, public forum! Seldom will folks agree, but who the hell appointed you two "thread police"?

Sorry. I thought this thread was about statues, etc, and not just standard fake packaging pics?

None of you have to jump through any hoops. On Wednesday or Thursday of next week the $19.96 price would have been honored. You would have gotten the difference. This is their policy and they have never failed me yet. Everyone needs to lighten up and have some patience.

You are wasting your breath...

Which is what I have been trying to say...people want to make sure their price is adjusted now. But as Amazon's policy has been the same for YEARS, and people still don't understand it, it just isn't worth it to educate anymore.

You're probably right. I can't think of a time they've ever failed in this regard.

But after reading the chat transcript earlier in the thread I thought I would give that a try. I had to try two different customer service people and neither were willing to acknowledge the price drop. Maybe they simply aren't privy to that kind of information, but I find that odd and atypical of my experience with Amazon customer service.

Truly don't mean to start a panic or anything, I just thought the experience was worth mentioning.

I agree! In addition to the LotR EE dvds, I would mention: Black Hawk Down 3-disc CE, Troy CD, Kingdom of Heaven CE and my Holy Grail: Escape From New York CE.
I'll probably never get rid of those dvds because of the great extras/packaging.

I thought it was real chinsey when they provided the LOTR EE's on blu ray, but still made you buy the special features again on DVD.

That's what they told me during the chat. He assured me that they will refund the difference. He told me that the copy of the chat they keep in there computer will be a prove if one of his colleague would refuse to refund.
