A matted piece would be more for someone that is very rare and or either deceased, that is my own preference though. Depp signatures are out there as I have a couple myself, so I would not consider him to be in the very rare category. A signed piece is more collectible if the signature is on the actual picture. I would say that one from the link is overpriced by at least 60%, but that is just what I would be willing to pay. |

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I sent out my blu-ray case of the remake of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' to Daniel Craig, who is on Broadway right now, and I just received it back in the mail today, signed. Makes the case that much more awesome. Sadly, I also sent him a picture to sign and I didn't even get it back. Waste of $10.

Can't you change the thread to anything signed. I have soooo many laser discs, DVDs, Blue rays and hundreds of 10x8's signed by plenty of Hollywood people I would like to show to the world.

This has been a project I've taken about 3 years to complete. I picked up this 1974 Bryanston Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster on Ebay back in 2011 for just over $100. I debated on getting it signed, but once the opportunity came up, I didn't hesitate and I'm glad I didn't. I know a lot of people think getting an original poster signed ruins the value, but the value for me comes out of the enjoyment I get from it.
Gunnar was impressed I had an original poster and thought that by him signing it, the value would go up as long as he didn't personalize it, and I agreed. Gunnar was actually so surprised I had an original, when we got talking about where I live (a few towns over from him), he said he would remember me and say hello when he saw me (how cool is that?? ![]() And at Gunnars suggestion, I had the poster linen backed and I'm glad I did, I think it looks great now. If you look at the poster where he is signing it, you can see a pretty heavy crease running through the bottom vertically. Linen backing made that disappear. I didn't have a full restoration done, I figured linen backing and slight restoration was enough, that cost me almost twice what the poster and signature did. And I wanted to keep some of the grittiness of the poster, I didn't want it looking like I just picked it up at the mall. Anyway, I think it came out perfect and it looks freaking awesome in a nice front loading frame hanging front and center in my living room right along side my signed Freddy Krueger glove. ![]() ![]() |

A few years ago, I won an autographed movie poster from an internet store and forgot I had even entered. On one hand, Diora Baird's autograph is on there. On the other hand, it's probably one of the worst movies ever made -- Stan Helsing.
