Default Digital Bit's says Spiderman 1, 2 and (probably) 3 Coming in '07

Didn't see this discussed here, so here goes:

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents

Quote:
On the high-def front today, it appears that Sony has confirmed that both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 will be released on Blu-ray Disc format before the end of the year (street date TBA), and it seems likely that Spider-Man 3 (which hits theaters this coming weekend) will be as well. Sony has made available a Best Buy-exclusive Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray bonus disc (free with the purchase of any other Blu-ray title) that includes the film's teaser trailer, both theatrical trailers and a 3-minute sneak peek featurette for the film, as well as a trailer teasing the first two films "Coming Soon Only to Blu-ray" and the standard Blu-ray promotional trailer. All are in 1080p video with Uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio. Likely all three discs will street day and date with the DVD release of Spider-Man 3 in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year.
Great, if not surprising, news. I love the first two Spidey movies, and will own them on BD for sure.

I wonder if Paidgeek could confirm this?

This is such good news. Since the series is so popular and they will only come out on BDs this could propel the format even farther.

Not discounting your thread but if Bill Hunt said it, then it's gospel.

Actually I have the Spider-man Blu-ray demo disc & it said coming to Spider-man & Spider-man 2 were coming to Blu-ray but it gave no dates or if I remember correctly I don't think it said this year, it just said coming to Blu-ray.

Hopefully they'll release it when they release Spider-man 3 & hopefully that will be before the holiday season.

All three shall be mine! I've only seen the first two movies once each at the cinema so it'll be quite a treat!

I didn't like the first, have no intentions on seeing the others, but I still want these out on BD. Not so I can buy them, but because I know they will be huge for the format's penetration in the market.

I think it likely you'll see a basic release #3, and a box set special edition.

They should release all in a box set. Unlike DVD, Spidey has no prior HD releases.

All three movies should be great demo material.

It cracks me up how so many people at AVS have tried to turn your thread over there into a opportunity to insult you!

Keep up the great work Josh!

Rob,

I think I have finally come-up with a solution to the argument on AVS that I just "make things up" when talking about information my sources have told me. Tonight I was speaking with Moderator Dr Don and I gave him the contact information of my sources and he verified them and he will be reporting this to AVS most likely tomorrow. I hope this will shut some of the skeptics up. Anyway, I know this was off subject, but I had to vent.

I wasn't sure how to take your response. I was being polite & saying no disrespect to your thread & I understand why it was posted.

I was just saying I have the same demo disc he was talking about & they given no dates for the Spider-man movies.

I, like many of you am hoping they will release all 3 movies before the end of the year so I can purchase them.

But I don't take someone referring this into to Bill Hunt "confirming" the all 3 Spider-man movies will be out before the end of the year as gospel.

It's the same website that confirmed, "The Rock, Con Air, Crimson Tide & Pixar's Cars" for June 5th. Those titles are not coming out on June 5th & have no new release date.

I'll wait for the news release from Sony. I have lost faith in news on the digitalbits website.

It's like the rumor that the Lord of the Rings trilogy will be the regular theatrical cuts on HD DVD & the extended cuts on Blu-ray with uncompressed sound. It would be great to have the extended cust with uncompressed sound but it's hard to think they would shortchange either side.

Rumors are just that rumors until the company releases release dates & specs.

If you were calling me a "fart" as mentioned in your response I'd like to know why & what I did to get such a response. My 1st line in my post was no disrespect to your thread.

I'm still trying to find out why people over there hate on you so much. Fox themselves have announced titles only to pull them later, so why is it any different that someone gets some insider info and it changes, the world is ending. I've seen your predictions come to pass many times over and given the amount of control you have over BD releases, I think your track record is pretty good.

People need to get over themselves and stop living their internet lives so seriously. Take a chill pill and watch some HD content.

Sounds good, but I don't know that I would expect this to make much difference in the way the HD-DVD fanboys treat you. The most you can expect is to have the mods realize that your sources are legit so they don't pull your threads because they think they are pure speculation (haven't they done this before?).

Anyway, you are to be commended for not sinking to the level of so many of the bashers over there. I don't know how you do it!

Bill gets 'em right sometimes, sometimes not.

I don't want to get my hopes up on this glorified rumor until we something a little bit more substantial to back it up.

It certainly would behoove Sony to get these titles out in time for the holidays, which I strongly suspect they will for all kinds of obvious reasons.
