That'd be like someone from this generation watching Star Wars Episode VII saying, "Hey, what the hell? Where's Jar Jar Binks?"
No, it's a fair point. A straight-up Donald Pleasence-esque Blofeld would be very difficult to pull off. Blofeld (much like many Bond villians) was a bit over-the-top to begin with. The Dr Evil associations - and sneering at them won't make them go away - only make recreating that kind of Blofeld that much more difficult.

It's sad, but true.
Yeah, I guess you're right with that point. But I guess that's what "reboots" are for, to reintroduce characters that the current generation may not be familiar with, in the hopes that they'll want to revisit the original/sequels. Just look at Evil Dead, they made a remake that kept teenagers interested, and I bet you with the first few films being on Netflix, they probably made an effort to catch up. If only they could do that with the Bond series...

No, he doesn't need to be bald. He had hair in From Russia With Love and Thunderball before his face was revealed. The only reason he was ever bald is because they brought in Donald Pleasance at the last minute to replace the first actor they hired in You Only Live Twice. He was only bald in that movie, OHMSS, and For Her Thighs Only. He had hair yet again in Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again(yes, I'm aware it's not an official Bond movie).

And if I recall correctly, Blofeld had hair in the Fleming novels and was never seen petting a cat all the time. If they ever do revisit the character in the Craig Bond films, I imagine he'll be far more serious and menacing than what we got in the earlier movies.

The producers for the Bond films have always used European actors to cast for Bond, they would not use Fassbender or anyone else from America. While actresses from America were always used as the female companion for Bond, I just don't see the producers using Fassbender or Cucumberbatch for Bond.

Fassbender is Irish and Cucumberbatch is English.

Well, Commonwealth actors at least - Lazenby was an Australian. But, as Jack Burton points out, Fassbender is Irish.

Excellent point. When most people hear Blofeld they think of a bald guy with a cat but that is not how Blofeld was in the novels so I would not be surprised if the producers go in a different direction if they bring the character back in the films. It would probably be a pretty safe bet that there would not be much in any new Blofeld that resembles Dr. Evil.

I think they should wait and use Blofeld and SPECTRE for the next Bond after Craig instead of trying to force it into Craig's final films in his run so that way it would have more time to be developed.

I think it would be cool if he was more like he was in the earlier Connery films like From Russia With Love and Thunderball where you didn't fully see him.

It would add a bit of mystery back to the character imo.

The filmmakers could possibly get a famous actor and leave him uncredited so the audience has to guess who's playing him.

They could give subtle hints to who the actor is throughout the film(s).

I'd go for a remake of OHMSS. Bring it on.

Anyone agree.
In the same respects, I wonder how many see Bond and think "he reminds me a lot of Austin Powers"

As long as he has hair otherwise he'll remind me of his performance as Lex Luthor in Superman Returns lol.
