But everyone has probably checked out house of cards by now so maslany and the little known bbc show never stood a chance

That always seem to be the case, great shows like The Wire were vastly overlooked by the award shows. It just disappoints me that Adam Samberg won one in his category when he is the least funniest on the show, and to beat Don Cheadle and Jim Parsons really speaks volumes about these award shows.

In a way it's shocking that Samberg and Brooklyn Nine-Nine won, but at the same time it isn't. The Golden Globes often recognizes a show that is new and largely unheralded, and the year Brooklyn Nine-Nine fit the bill. I'm a big fan of Brooklyn Nine-Nine but I don't think it's the best comedy at this time. It's still figuring out what works and has been largely uneven.

I'm also a big fan, but as much as I try to like Samberg he just always seems like he's trying too hard. I've liked every episode so far, but honestly I don't see this show lasting.

I really had hoped Arron Paul would take home an award.

I watch every nominated show in the TV field for the Globes, so I think I have a good opinion on it.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - I've seen a lot of positive press about this show. Yes, it has been uneven at times, but it ultimately feels fresh and fun and is filled with interesting and unique characters. I don't think it is completely shocking that this won, when you really sit down and think about all the nominees, it probably was the overall best...maybe only by a small, small percent...I think a lot of the shows might have been close this year. I don't think B99 was a runaway winner. I think it just managed to slip by due to fatigue from other shows like Modern Family, BBT, Girls, etc.

The Big Bang Theory - A wild card. Viewers love this, but a lot of critics seem not to. It isn't a completely trashed show, but it doesn't seem to be overly loved.

Girls - This is a show that has everyone split. It seemed like (to me) that people who actually loved season 1, did not like season 2 all that much, yet it was still nominated. I think it is too polarizing for a win.

Modern Family - Another show that seems to always show up nominated at all award shows...but I think people are tired of rewarding it. I also noticed many saying the quality of the show has been slipping a bit.

Parks and Recreation - I think this show is solid as ever. The critics still seem to be really supporting it even if viewers are not tuning it. I think this had a real chance.
