According to BVA, this has been pulled from schedule and Amazon have removed the price and release date.

You have to be joking! I was really looking forward to this being finally released.

Eureka should release it instead. An underrated gem, probably Harrison Ford's best film.

For those who are interested in importing this, amazon.fr is selling the br for 15 Euro.

My copy arrived today and I watched the first half-hour and then compared the pq with other 80's Paramount titles that I own. I put this on par with 48 Hours and Beverly Hills Cop. It has moderate to heavy grain at times with descent to good detail. The aq is serviceable but the Dolby TrueHD track gives more body to the score.

This is actually exactly what I was expecting from this release, a good catalog title that Paramount didn't bother to remaster.... I wasn't expecting miracles. There are no extras but overall I am happy with the upgrade and I'll gift my dvd to my brother.

This is also getting releases in Germany and Italy in the coming weeks. I imagine that the disc would be the same for all international releases as the menu opens up with multiple language options.

Thanks for the quick review. Amazon.jp has it as a part of the 2 for 3000 yen sale. That means it's $15 as well there.

Any of the extras ported over?

Indy,

This is a barebones release. The extras on the dvd are a one time viewing to me, but they are very informative, historically speaking. Keep the dvd if you want to watch them again.

Actually, you'd need BOTH dvd's. That sucks that they didn't port them over.

Only on the first release
Interview with director Peter Weir (7:05)

Only on the 2nd release
"Between Two Worlds: The Making of Witness" 5-part documentary (32:47):
"Kitchen Scene In Book's Sisters House" deleted scene (from the network TV airing) (4:10)
3 TV spots

However, it's entirely possible that the US version will have them. Wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks again!
