Strange the customer reviews from the source link state it's not the original movie but a television miniseries...

Looks like Amazon has done another sterling effort

in linking old reviews from older releases to this newer release, which of course hasn't even come out yet. I just hate how sloppy Amazon became with grouping all reviews together (DVD, VHS, Blu-ray) for the same title.

In this case it appears some of these reviews, which date from 2003, say it's for a TV series by the same name. I'd ignore them as they are obviously in error.

Simply wonderful news. This has been on my wish list for so many years. The island scenes should look amazing in HD.

I emailed owner of theblackstallion.com. I think he is the son of the book author???
He has been trying for years to get this on Blu and thinks its a bootleg.

What? The owner of this website(possibly the author's son) thinks the upcoming BD release is a bootleg?? On what grounds?

I have the laserdisc with that original cover artwork. I actually have two separate releases on laserdisc. Yes I love this film.
