If you stayed to see that scene, it was a good lead-up. BUT, the way they filmed that scene looked much different, lenses and all, then the film that preceded it. It looked like something digital from the SciFi Channel and not film or a digital shot for film.
The scene looks way better on Blu. When I saw it in the theaters, first thing that came to mind was MST3K.

Back to lurking.

Didn't they say Winter Soldier would shake up the MCU a lot?

Gah, I feel like the wait's been too long. They should have started advertising later or put it out sooner. I've been ready to watch it for ages.

Not 'Guardians' related, but...

Marvel Will Film 60 Hour-Long Netflix Episodes In New York

Filming in the biggest U.S. cities can be incredibly expensive. Thanks to the costs of permits, security, and simple logistics, to actually film on location in New York City or Los Angeles is not financially feasible for many major productions. But most major productions aren’t backed by Marvel or Disney. Wednesday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a special, multi-million dollar incentive program created specifically to lure Marvel Studios to New York to film the entirety of its Netflix series of shows, That’s 60 one-hour episodes total, which will now be shot in NYC.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the news. According to their report, Marvel and its parent company Disney were looking at several different places to film the five shows: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage leading to The Defenders. Since the stories are set in New York, and this deal was made, that’s how it’ll go down.

Each series will be 13 episodes, and then The Defenders will be 8. It’s described as “Marvel’s ‘flawed heroes of Hell’s Kitchen’” series. Filming will start this summer with Daredevil. (Hell’s Kitchen, located on the west side of Midtown Manhattan, was a fairly rough working-class neighborhood when stories were first set there in Marvel comics. Since the ’90s, however, it has been greatly gentrified and is very different from the place originally stalked by Daredevil in the ’60s and ’70s.)

We’ll update when there’s an official press release or more information, but the fact New York state would create a special tax incentive package – worth around $4 million – to lure Marvel to the city is unusual and exciting.

I love seeing the MCU expanding.

Oh, Well See, I thought that they would put her in a movie. Not to show that they own that character but to use her in a movie, because that character is something they can put in a movie because, well, why not use her if they can even if she's in the comics ?

Yes, That's the part that I just don't understand. Why just have them in the comics when they can be in the movies too ?

I believe that would depend on if that rumored scene in Guardians of the Galaxy exists, where Iron Man meets or rather meets up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, like what happens in the comics if I am not mistaken.

Not every character Marvel has will be in the movies, Sean. At all. Ever. There are 4,000+ characters alone. You can't start shoehorning them in for the sake of it. They need to be used naturally. They're a multilevel company, with focus on films, tv shows, and comics. So characters will be used one place, some others. Period.

Holy cow! . I honestly did not realize that there are over 4,000+ characters! . Is that more then there is of DC comics characters ?

I think they hype 6,000+ Characters now. But exactly.

The MCU and even the licensed films are just a drop in the bucket of the vast Marvel Universe.

Plus those 3 together should easily rate a movie at the theater . But maybe they will get one later .

They even out, more or less. You have to realize that Marvel and DC have been publishing comics for more then 50-70 years, so they're each going to generate a lot of characters in that time, even if most are pretty minor or tertiary.

Comics are still their primary product and it's what they focus on, while movies are a (relatively) recent market they've moved into.

Yeah, awhile ago they said that Winter Soldier would shake up and change the MCU as we know it. Will be interesting to see what they mean by that.

possibly the (potential) major spoiler that recent tv spots hinted at. (
[Show spoiler]Cap says "Fury's final words were....", which some people assume mean he dies.
) I think it's untrue and just Marvel intentionally messing with people.

It's possible. I've heard the rumor, but I'm not convinced. I think it's something else.
[Show spoiler]I think Hydra comes back and SHIELD is somehow involved.
I'm usually wrong about these things, too.

Do you think Marvel will find a way to film the Civil War storyline within the entirety of the MCU?

I've read some of it and I think it's a fascinating story. I'd personally love to see it get on the big screen, but I know it's a big storyline, too.

I don't know where else to ask this question.

I hope not. Never liked it. I didn't like seeing some of my favorite heroes become government stooges, or fight against their friends/teammates because of a law.

I'd rather have the heroes fighting the bad guys instead of heroes fighting other heroes. The only time I like hero vs. hero is the classic comic book misunderstanding, where they fight then realize they're on the same side - The Avengers did that perfectly, for example.

There are 5 short EPK videos featuring each main character on iTunes trailer app. You can hear the Bradley Cooper doing the raccoon voice in the raccoon video.
