Granted it's Season 2, but I have this version (unopened) which I suspect is a digipack b/c it doesn't rattle like an amaray.

Is there a way to tell from the packaging if you get the original, unaltered Season 1 with the "George Bush" scene intact? A bar code difference?

Depends when you bought it. You could just stick it on and look for the head...
