Jackson and Company really changed way too much in the movies for them to even really be recognized as adaptations...

even your vote that GoT has better audio is questionable.....i'll give you GoT has the better song but overall I give that one to LOTR as well.

comparing these 2 is just as asinine as comparing The Avengers to The Dark Knight.

I've read LOTR 2 or 3x now....I've actually found it tedious to read in more than one spot......I would almost go so far as to say Tolkein took himself waaaay to seriously in his writing.

never felt that way while reading Martin's books.....I'm on my 2nd read through of those right now actually.
