Paying a premium to see a film in 3d that has some action shoots in 2d... yeah no thanks 2d will do me just fine as this clearly was meant to be a 2d film.

the flat parts aren't always there. It's only every so often and it's some minor 2 second shots during the quick cuts. I'd still catch it in 3d and I think it's arguably a much stronger 3d conversion than Thor: The Dark World.

I will probably buy it on 3d blu-ray if the film is good to check it out. Thor: The Dark Worlds 3d did nothing for me, it was just there and obviously not intended by the film makers.

I saw it today and loved it. Great action and plot. The 3D is quite good on it too. Its good to see the conversion work done by Stereo D. Nothing brilliant but nothing bad either.

Just got back from seeing this. I wouldn't use the word incredible, but it was a good movie. Pretty good story, good action, and good 3D. The 3D in this one was one of the better uses of the technology in the Marvel movies. The 3D in Thor 2 was piss poor, they made up for it.

Previews:
Spiderman - this was a different trailer than previous ones I have seen, the 3D in this trailer looked amazing.
X Men - saw this before, 3D looked good.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 - 3D looks excellent.

Thumbs up

I'll use the word awesome to describe Captain America Winter Soldier, the movie. The action scenes were incredible IMO as mseeley suggests, and I agree, the story and plot were nicely done too and I liked the darker theme and more serious tone to this film.
Liked the first one also, but this was something else. The choreographed martial arts were top of the line awesome!

As for the 3D, it got the job done and is definitely on par with the first movie, but I'd call it average if comparing it to a strong 3D conversion like Pacific RIm in 2013, which would mop the floor with Captain America's medium 3D. Even so, the 3D looks good for the most part despite an even mix of medium and mild 3D shots throughout. Theater was a Cinemark 3D regular (not XD this time).

Yes, also caught previews of Amazing Spider Man 2 (which has closer to strong 3D in a lot of shots for the conversion with some medium shots too, can't wait to check it out next month!), Maleficent (3D looks medium but good), XMen Days of Future Past Trailer 2 (3D looks medium, even if filmed in 3D. They didn't push it enough but I'll hold my opinion on the 3D for the whole film). Guardians of the Galaxy (upper range medium 3D, looks great).

Good summary of the 3D. They could have pushed it to Pacific Rim's strong 3D, but what is here is still worth checking out on blu ray 3D again.

Movie was very cool thanks to the Winter Soldier being a serious villain to contend with for the @ss kicking Captain Steve Rogers. Black Widow, Nick Fury, the guy with the wings, all great stuff. Lots of phenomenally shot action pieces here. Amazing!
