Get ready for further economic insult!!!
![]() Effective Sunday June 1, prices on ALL consumer electronics AND appliances will jump by 16%!!!! You read right........ 16%! I found this out at an electronics/appliance dealer today when I looked at Sony's KDL-32XBR6 (which, BTW, is a KILLER set!) I then went into a Best Buy and they confirmed the forthcoming 16% jump in consumer electronics/appliances. ![]() Guess you can blame it all on the gas prices -- more precisely on the freight costs to transport those goodies to us. Something's gotta be done about this bull$hit!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Jodi |

Considering that Dow Chemical has announced a 20% price increase across a broad range of products that they sell, I'm not surprised that we'll start seeing similar price increases in the end products that consumers buy.
And consider this. Historically, Dow Chemical has given their customers 30 days notice for any increase. This one is one of the highest in their history and they are doing it almost immediately, so reaction will most likely be swift. |

I drive a semi truck for a living, Diesel is now 5.25 a gallon here in california. You have to remember, if the trucks stop, AMERICA stops with it. Price of freight affects everything. And yah, prices have gone up for shipments of everything, which means retail prices have to go up with it.

Thank goodness I just bought my HDTV and BD Player this past week.
I am good for a while now on electronics. wow, that was just in time. I htink it's time for everyone to hunker down now, stop spending money, and just spend all their time watching movies. |

Actually, if consumers stop spending money, that also affects the economy adversely. Inventories rise, manufacturers cut production, people lose jobs, etc. It's a pretty complicated and vicious thing, this economy.

This year should be interesting whats sad is the handwriting has been on the wall about this for years now.I hope that people will question how this economy works and how that connects ro the polititical side of things.People are starting to question the enormous profit oil companies more and more maybe that line of thought will help people question how the whole system works.

People have been questioning oil profits for years. America is an apathetic nation. We've puffed ourselves up for years thinking world economics and government should be based on how we see it and how we think it should perform. This was a slow burning fuse and we're at the bomb now. This, what we're faced with today, has always been based on fundamental governmental proliferation and revolution will be what cleanses it from our view. How do we change a nation when we can't change our own bad interests in our homes first. This concept carries into cities, states and countries. Change starts within ourselves first. Change what we're so sure we think we need and that can change nations.
If we want to change the guard, then we need to change what we're guarding. |

I guess my prior post will be deleted also. Sad, people can bash others here and practically incite a riot about there personal opinions on technology, but ya can't post your opinion about the economy and actually watch people come together and agree about it. You can't have technology if you're living under a totalitarian regime. It's always good to express your economic ideals. Who knows, we may not be able to afford to turn our computers on and visit this site in the near future.
