i sure hope you put your fist all over his face and your foot all in his ass too! to prevent this problem in the future of course!

now that i've finished with the preventative measures, someone will now come along to tell you about how to clean the speakers!

I haven't. But if there is dust on the speaker, should I not use water? Or Mr Min?

Or is just a microfiber cloth enough? I'm not an expert at cleaning things, so I defer to your expertise.

In the manual for the speakers, Paradigm recommends using a damp soft cloth to clean the finish. Personally I would only do this for fingerprints and smudges, for dusting I would use a microfiber duster.

I use a guitar/piano cleaner, with a 100% cotton cloth. Works great. For dust I just use the cloth but when dummies leave their oily prints on them I clean them up nice.

Default Thinking of getting some Paradigm's....

Hey guys, I might have a chance of purchasing some Paradigms Monitor 7v6 and CC-190 v6 for $500. To me, that seems like a decent deal but would like to get more feedback... is the price right and what do you think of their sound/performance.

Might grab them tomorrow, so all input & feedback would be appreciated!

thx.

What's up 4x12, long time no talk.

I wouldn't give up your RS6s for them but if they are for a second system I think the older V6 are very good value speakers. I prefer them over the V7 personally. I haven't heard any of their centers speakers. But I've heard the monitor 11 v6, mini monitor v6 and mini monitor v7.

Hey Callas, indeed long time no talk. No intention of selling my RS6's. These are for my basement system. More of a 2 channel audio for now... might build on it later on and use it in the future dedicated room or bring them upstairs and use the RS6's in the dedicated room. But the guy is selling the 3 for $500, so looking for good info on them, and this is always a good place with honest feedback.

Is say based on what I've heard of the V6 paradigms $500 is a good price for the 3 pcs. I have a second living room in my new house and it's a deal like this Ill be on the lookout for later too.

I am surprised Callas prefered the V6 to the V7 as clearly when I did the side by side comparison the v7 sounded less veiled, more open and more musical to my ears.

All in All it's not a bad speaker for the money but I would definitly try to audition them. They are not so close in perf vs your MA silver IMHO. Is it a rush?

You could wait to see what else is lying around. have you searched CAM?

Hey Al, not a huge rush, but I wouldn't want it to pass me by either. I checked CAM, but with shipping fee's it isnt always a "deal". Other thing I found was another Paradigm 7seMKIII for $125 locally... trying to find more info on those also.

I think I have seen the set of Digm you are talking about also on CAM. I think you can get a good deal on them and well worth it.

I cannot find anything else in that price range except for some Wharfedale Diamond 10 bookies with their center channel but it's Trois-Rivières.

Thats a good price. The center alone usually sells for 150-200.
For a basement system id say go for them if you already havent.

To me the V7s sounded bright and more boomy with the V6 having more mid-range push. Not to mention that the V6 were waaaaayyy better looking speakers!

Odd I did not feel that at all, Digm can be tricky as you well know the way they sound is very dependent of the amplification.

So many condition can affect the sound.

Not to worry. Speaker deals are a dime a dozen and since you are in no rush something else will come along eventually.

well it was a NAD CDP and IA that was powering both speakers. I also played the PMC DBi1(awesome speaker) Epos ELS3, and the B&W 685. All were 2 feet from the wall and only the Mini Monitor V7 sounded all boom and sizzle. NAD, Im sure you know, is warm and smooth sounding and so I took away that the V7s were just voiced to be hot and heavy, and that sound just isn't my style. I prefer, as you know, a very balanced, linear speaker with some mid-range warmth. I can't remember, maybe the V7 was a little more transparent, but I didn't care for its overall sound. The PMC was the best of the bunch, but its a $2k speaker vs the other $300-600 speakers, then my next favorite was the V6 mini monitor.

I bought a pair of digms mini monitor v7 and did a comparison with my digms monitor 7v6 and I thought the v6's where better and the 7's where more veiled in the mid range so I took them back! I did get a good deal on them, under $500 I think? but returned them to get a pair of Studio 100's.

I hope they release a new Studio or signature series because I would buy a pair in a heart beat!
