While I will agree that German cars frequently have better design, technology and components (although often not as reliable as Japanese cars), one of the main reasons they're more expensive is simply because German factory workers get paid more (and because they can charge more due to brilliant marketing).

Blu-ray Steelbooks are aesthetically pleasing, more than amarays, like pieces of art, when they are done right anyway. Otherwise I just get the amaray if it's a movie I want and don't like the steelbook artwork.

Steelbooks are harder to maintain but with the right storage that is not a problem, it's getting them in great condition that can be a problem sometimes.

Of course they do cost more and do go up in price compared to the standard amarays but I have no interest in selling mine. Bottom line it's another hobby, it sure is addictive.

To me it was all about low print runs so the steelbook actually felt limited however zavvi has proved this still dosnt make them valuable but then again that could be down to the obscure choice in releases by them
