Do you have a really good movie theater, an ok theater, or bad theater in your area.
I live in the atlanta area and we have an AMC theater that is on point. I have never had a bad movie experience there. It has the largest screen along with best sound. The base is off the charts and the sound adds a lot of life to the movie. Cinemark theaters are usually good too. Most of the time you can always look at the size of the speakers and tell what kind of sound you are going to get. Now I have been to a couple of new theaters that made me feel ripped of when sound is low and without base. I hate that! A couple of theaters to name that I have been disappointed at are Great Escape McDonough 16, the Regal at Atlantic Station(had no base what so ever!) Last edited by dewey79; 06-16-2008 at 01:16 AM. |

One thing I HATE about multi-plex theaters is most do not tell you what time the movie is playing in what theater...
ie, do you pay $9.50 to see it at the time you want, or $9.50 to watch it in the larget theater with better sound... About4 theaters in my area have 2 big theaters and 8 or 10 smaller duds. The new movies are played at alternating times and there is never an indication of what theater you will be watching it in. ![]() One reason I rarely go to movies. |

Theatres here in Memphis are pretty subpar considering they are regionally owned. The best one here I prefer not to go to because it is too busy and not in a part of town I care to frequent. The best theatres I have been to are the Green Hills Regal Cinema in Nashville, it is in a very ritzy part of town and the crowd is usually low key are respectful, and Wehrenberg Ronnie's 20 in St Louis, awesome 2 floor arcade, an eat in diner that plays old movies drive in style (the tables are like cars) and 20 great screens.

The best theater, to me, is the Regal Pinnacle Cinema (part of the Turkey Creek shopping center) in my town of Knoxville, TN. Every room is filled to the brim with stadium seating and DLP showings! Saw "The Bourne Ultimatum" in the very first screening room, and was blown away by the sound quality!

I must admit I am very impressed with those digital presentations...went to see Semi-Pro and I had never seen a movie in a theater that looked so crystal clear. Of course the nearest digital theater is about an 80 mile drive so I haven't made it back! |

i live in the Metro Detroit area...
i think the nicest theatres around here are MJR ones... www.mjrtheatres.com and EMagine... but we only have 2, one in Novi and one in Canton... the EMagine theatres serve alcohol too! ![]() Last edited by PoLskA; 06-25-2008 at 01:56 AM. |
