Received my copy of LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE Yesterday and was upset the case and cover were all Jacked up, Probably happened during shipping and Amazon has already sent the replacement. I went ahead and watched the Bluray Last night and I am sure several complaints will be voiced about the PQ but over all I thought it was a fine release and since LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE is one of my favorite movies I am happy to see it finally on Bluray.

I haven't watched mine yet, but if I remember right the movie has never looked that great in the first place on home video. The last DVD release was not that great.

Filmax is not owned by Yuzna, Filmax is a prominent film studio and distributor from Spain, owned and controlled by Julio Fernandez & son, Yuzna made a deal with Filmax to start a sub company called Fantastic Factory to make a product (films) at a cost effective budget. After 5 or 6 films Yuzna and Fernandez parted ways, the films produced with the Fantastic Factory banner were all distributed by Lionsgate, (It says Trimark, because these titles were released at the exact time the merger between Trimark & Lionsgate took place at the late 2000 early 2001). Filmax continues to make horror films on their own, but primarily to the Spanish/European market, most notably the (Rec) films. Other notable English speaking productions by Filmax were Transsiberian, The Kovak Box & The Machinist.

Transsiberian & The Kovak Box were both distributed in the US by Millennuim Entertainment, Shout! should have access to them, The Kovak Box is a very underated thriller, part "Hitchcokian thriller" & part "Wicker Man" vibe to it, starting Timothy Hutton, and the photography on it is excellent.

I watched the Scream Factory Blu-ray of Leviathan last night and reviewed the disc in the dedicated thread for the movie.

While watching that film, I got to thinking about another ocean-setting-gone-horribly-wrong title, the 1981 TV movie, The Intruder Within.

I'd be curious to know if there's any chance of The Intruder Within ever seeing the light of day in high definition.

It may be one of those movies where my childhood memories are better than the real thing, but still...

Every version of the film I've ever watched has had a heavily grainy appearance - I assume it was an artistic choice to make it look that way. I hope at the very least the grain on this new BD is less clumpy and more natural-looking, the way high-def should look

You know what TV show Scream should put out? Baywatch Nights.

The Hoff fighting oceanic vampires. Don't pretend that isn't great.

Intruder Within is still a pretty good movie, for a made for tv production. The production values and the actors are all pretty good. The final scenes, with the slimy creature walking around the rig, are creepy. The squishy sound effects and the monster's weird breathing/sqawking, are memorable.

Innocent Blood is Warner Bros. They'll probably release it on their Warner Archives label.

I have a Region 4 DVD of it and the picture quality is good. The sound is good, but no widescreen...

...and if recent history holds true, it'll be the R-rated cut only, not the extended version that was released in Germany.

The Region 4 DVD is indeed 16/9 widescreen, I have it. The US DVD was a 4:3 release.
The R4 release is also desirable because it features the uncut version of the film.

I would love a BD of this film, but I doubt it will happen.

The Australian and German Innocent Blood are indeed uncut and 16x9, but the video quality is still quite sucky - soft and drab. And I watched the Australian disc fairly recently, so it's fresh in my mind. Also bizarre is that the Australian is NTSC.

They should release April Fool's Day (1986). That movie seams right up their alley.

It is, but they have no licensing deal with Warner currently (and Warner controls Paramount's catalog).

I tried them out through Amazon marketplace back in May. They took a week just to ship one Blu-ray, plus another week or so to receive it even though they're just over the next state in PA (I'm in NY). Won't order from them again. Maybe someone here has had a better experience?

Yeah, I ordered Scorpion's Tomboy and Body Melt last night because they are like the only places that still claim to have them in stock (both are going out of print). I don't mind waiting but I am just curious if that inventory status was up to date.
