Don't count your chickens yet. These may be tough to get stateside as Future Shop doesn't ship outside Canada, and these are limited to 800 per title.

But there is a quote in the OP this time bringing up the possibility of a US/BB release with a larger quantity. I don't think there was any word like that for the GB steel.

Well, if we get these in the USA and if these steels also drop the 2nd disc, I will have to pass on the one I'd be most interested in...Superbad.

Maybe Stripes.

Also have the Leon from Kimchi, so I can't see the steelbook blowing me away unless it comes with a voucher to spend a weekend with Mathilda (grown-up, of course) in Paris.

See OP.

Ane he very well could be wrong, but it's still a pretty damn good lead and I don't see anything wrong with people getting excited for the possibility we may get these.

They will all be flat, single disc, generic feeling crap.....like most others we get here.

I feel like if it is available in another country, then theirs is likely better, lol.

Snatch
Desperado
Taxi Driver
Tommy
Kung Fu Hustle

Maybe some of those ones depending on artwork... also would prefer it if Taxi Driver was the MI4K disc release and not the normal disc release (as I already have that). Guess we will have to wait and see. I don't know if Desperado makes much sense, as its a double feature disc. Unless one side notes El Mariachi and the other Desperado, using poster artwork, and both titles on the spine. I'd buy it then.

Kung Fu Hustle is probably the only one that I'm highly likely to get for sure.

The art is ok, but do I really need another steel with this art? Just give me a steel with iconic art and I will purchase. Flood the market with release after release of new art and you will burn out all but the most ardent fan. The only art I really like is the Fifth Element and maybe Stripes (more because of the movie). May pick up for $7 or $8, but for now --- no sale.

Why rebuy a blu ray just for a new cover? I would prefer a brand new transfer on a brand new disc instead of old transfer in new packaging (I don't care if its steelbook. Its NOT gold!). Don't fall for these studio gimmicks! I have purchased several box sets of the Die Hard films hoping for the newer 4K scans, but instead get the same ugly transfers from 2007 (or earlier!).

From a movies collector's point of view, what you said makes perfect sense. From a steelbooks collector's, you're crazy.

We have many people who collect steelbooks (among a bunch of other kinds of special packagings) that won't even open their steels. People who buy empty steelbooks and just don't care at all about what the movie was. People who will buy every single edition of the same movie being released at the same time, even if all share the same disc.

The thing is: to each their own. Collecting is not an exact science, therefore we may see some habits that look unusual or weird to us, but which will fulfill another person's needs and whishes.
