Perhaps the delay concerns unanticipated further work on the original, as the picture quality of the Full Moon release is definitely nothing to brag about. The image is serviceable, at best, and unsteady. It looks like a good DVD from early in that era. Derived from the original negative? You’d never know it from the result.
At least it’s not overprocessed, whoopty doo. Some have assumed that the 88 Films release of this movie will feature authoring superior to that of the Full Moon version. That now seems like a pretty safe assumption, and certainly to be hoped for. |
