Great, I've wanted that TV version. It's definitely not that good but Angela Bettis is way better than Chloe Moretz and the movie at least tries to do a lot of different stuff from the De Palma one, unlike the new remake which was so close as to be pointless.

I've never seen the 2002 version, but I've heard that it's closer to the book, with more of a non-linear story structure and interviews of the survivors. Although, I don't think any version of Carrie has ever used the book's ending.
I figured that The Rage: Carrie 2 was one that would never see a blu-ray release. It's been a long time since I last saw it, so I look forward to seeing it again. The announcement of this one makes me almost positive that Disturbing Behavior will be announced before the end of the month. |

It will be interesting to see how the 2002 tv movie looks on Blu-ray. I'm assuming it was shot on film, but like most tv product mastered for SD video. Was this an exception in the early days of HD mastering? Perhaps the film was edited and mastered on HD? Let's hope an up-conversion isn't released as "High Definition". Unless this was edited on film (which was sometimes done for tv films, for overseas theatrical release.) is it possible they have done a HD "reconstruction"? Which seems like an expensive process for this release.

The original Carrie is nearly flawless and one of my favorite movies, but so is May. I consider the TV remake worth watching just as a test drive of sorts for Angela Bettis in May. She's really good.

If they do Disturbing Behavior, I'd love if they put the deleted scenes back into the movie, the way it aired on the SyFy Channel (only not edited for TV of course). The movie works so much better with those scenes to fill the gaps.

![]() I'm surprised so many people like the TV version. I didn't think it was all that great. I mean, I wouldn't say it sucked, but it definately wasn't all that good either. If I want to watch Carrie, that would be the last version I would pick. ![]() |

I agree that Carrie badly needs a special edition, every other De Palma movie from the 70s and 80s has one BESIDES Carrie, despite Carrie being by far the most popular (besides maybe Scarface). I have great blurays of all his other classics and an MGM DVD of Carrie sticking out like a sore thumb. Ah well. |

halloween 2 got cleaned up by them and apparently Halloween 6 Producer's Cut was a master they did. But otherwise they use existing masters for pretty much everything.
