My first thoughts were that I could run the speaker wires since my sub can be used with them. I simply spaced my receiver connection when designing my theater. Running a shielded cable would not be too much of an issue, since I still have decent access via ceiling.
those high level inputs on the speaker are to be used from your left & right speaker outputs. there is a dedicated RCA sub terminal input. i recommend that you buy a dedicated sub cable from monoprice (do good measurements and get longer than you need) and connect it to the receiver's sub out and your good to go. put your power mode to auto!
