Apparently before the big games of the year hit.

My guess is before November 18th.

It's all relative. It's not more needed to me. MP3/custom soundtrack support was #1 on my most wanted list. Also I want custom folder creation and pause/resume downloading more than a back up feature. It would also be nice to be able to check messages without having to exit my games.

I agree, MP3/Custom Soundtrack was my most wanted feature. Don't care about backup feature at all really.

It appears that the one feature I wanted is actually not included:

The ability to back up via USB.

I want to be able to plug a USB hard drive into the PS4 and watch movies and videos off of it, like I could on the PS3.

That's my #1 requested option. #2 is dynamic themes.

So I should wait to replace my original PS3(fat) with the PS4 for another 6 months? I have it as my main blu-ray player in my theater set-up.

Good to know.

I don't know what the hell is taking them so long but it should be taking more than a year to get the PS4 to the same level that the PS3 was in terms of media functionality. This thing launched in 2013 and we will be going into 2015 with it still severely lagging behind. And no I don't expect some massive update after 2.0 and before the end of the year that puts them on the same level

I just want to replace the HD with a 1 TB, but I will not replace it until I can backup everything via USB. I have no interest in redownloading all my digital content especially when on a bandwidth cap.

What are you wanting to back up? Doesn't all of your transaction history, saves, updates, etc save in "the cloud?" All you have to do is re-download it all don't you?

Which is why I delete AAA titles in favour of Indie/PSN games. I have a un-boxed 4TB USB HDD with hope Sony will listen to their fans.

I have several digital games that are probably close to 150GB. I would rather not redownload all of that.

Of course I am assuming that PS4s ability to backup and restore is MUCH quicker than the PS3s.

Nevertheless, I'll probably just go ahead and replace it and redownload games on a need-to-play basis.

This.

I've already gone over 500gb had to delete about 150gb of games already to make way for new games. I wouldn't want download a few hundred gb of games and patches all over again. Not only would my isp hate me but the download times are still pretty slow on ps4.

I'd love to be able to back up everything to a hdd and transfer to a new 2tb internal without having to re download everything.

So wait, will the new update actually put You Tube window in our XMB or does it just allow direct uploads for video?

Both.

Little summary of 2.0 features (known, apparently there's more):

- Youtube Streaming from Share button
- Youtube App
- Shareplay
- Custom Colors for background
- Custom Themes
- MP3 playback on USB
- New Library which comprises games that you "purchase" but do not have to download immediately (PS+ offerings will have a little icon "Add to Library" per example)
- Player You May Know suggestions
- Live broadcasting enhancements
- Horizontal bar redesigned to only show the latest 15 most used apps/ games, the rest will be in the library
- Improved sorting functions in Library (A-Z/ Z-A sorting, by download date, by last used, by type aka Game/ App/ etc.)
- Improved voice commands
- Improved "What's New" area showing more about the players you play most often with
...

In case there is any doubt that the Youtube app is coming, it was confirmed by Sony months ago:

Wait, so after reading the most recent comments, the ps4 cannot upload saves to a USB? I never tried but that should have been a day 1...

I am still very disappointed that they still cant have functionality do 3 simple things that the ps3 did. 1 - group games with games, movie and tv with movie and tv, so on and so forth. 2 - play music from the hard drive. Cool now at least we will have the ability to play our own music instead of a soundtrack, but i really have to keep a usb plugged in to do it? 3 - why cant I just use whatever wallpaper that I want for the background of the home screen???? Is that sooo hard to do????
