I second that emotion! And by the by, wasn't "Subconscious Cruelty" supposed to receive the blu treatment?

Just because all 10,000 copies doesn't sell out during pre-order doesn't mean fans won't buy them over the next several months or a year. That's how it should be anyways. I hate when a title sells out as fast as it is released - it gives the casual blu-ray/movie fan no chance to even find out that it was released before it's too late.

Glad to hear it. In a moment of weakness I pre-ordered the Arrow as a double dip, partly for the lossless audio & partly waiting to see what exclusive extras are announced. Hope they announce details soon. I already have the soundtrack CD, so maybe I can save some money.
I've only seen Nekromantik and have been curious to see the other films for a long time. Glad I didn't splurge on the DVDs now.
Anyway, great news from Cult Epics on both counts. I hope N2 sells well enough for them to do all the rest.
I think it's a good move to make more of these available if demand is there. More small companies should follow the move I first noticed from the soundtrack label Intrada. For a long time their CDs were sold out without warning the morning they were announced, thanks to scalpers. They finally started a model of making them available for "a limited time, while quantaties and interest remain" with a cap of 10,000. After being available for several months at least, if sales seemed really weak or nearly 10,000 were sold they would give a heads up of about a month's notice with a final date the title would be available. I can't think of a better business model, if they must be limited. And as they said, it's a model with room for both the collector and the...er..."speculator". I know there's some difference in batch numbers that can be made between CDs and BDs, but I think this basic model could work for the niche blu-ray labels as well.

These would be most welcome! But I really hope we still get the Blu Ray release of "Massacre at Central High" soon since Early Summer 2014 has long passed

I JUST got a copy of the first film (which I've known about for decades but never actually watched) so this is awesome news. I'm all for limited editions that have decent numbers of pressings. Most the reason why titles in the 3000 or less limited editions don't sell out right away is limited awareness and availability. If they had even 1 copy in every Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Futureshop, Tower, B&N, etc. there wouldn't even be enough to do any online sales. Instead I go to the Bestbuy and see entire shelves full of the new Godzilla flick and sing-along Frozen.

I wonder if Arrow will be doing this one as well. Not that I can't get this version, but you know, just to match my copy of the first one from Arrow.
Either way good news!

This.

Given how awesome the Arrow edition of the first "Nekromantik" is (I can't wait to get mine in the mail), IMO another limited edition for this sequel and hopefully one for "Schramm" from them too would be most welcome.

I hope this doesn't get pushed to 10,000 units like Nekromantik.

I'm ashamed to admit I still have yet to pick up the original Nekromantik on bluray. But I'm far more excited about this release and I'm hoping that if they do keep it at a 5,000 print run, I can get it preordered before they sell out. Damn Christmas time and having no money ><

Agreed. Love the film, but I remember hearing about the original for years and how disturbing it was. I constantly saw it on "most extreme/disturbing" lists so when I finally got a hold of the original Barrel DVD and watched the film for the very first time, I have to say I was slightly let down I didn't feel like I had watched a disturbing film but instead one of the greatest black comedies of all time.

Or maybe I'm just a sick bastard

August Underground was another one that suffered from being overhyped for me. It had a few moments but overall it didn't live up to the reputation it had built up. I have yet to see the other two films in the series, though. I've heard they get worse.

I'd be all over a bluray release of Aftermath. Or the Guinea Pig series

August Underground is a found footage masterpiece IMO.

The "limited edition exclusives" in the first were really disposable as is, two cardstock inserts, and this second exclusive doesn't seem much different - a cool freebie but nothing essential.

Yeah, it would suck if everyone who wants one could get a copy.

Do I need to see the first film to understand this one? They don't sound connected and to be honest this one sounds a lot more interesting than the first one. I don't really want to spend $50 on both just so I can see the second one.

To avoid spoiling the first one, I can only say the corpse in the second film is a character involved in the first film in some capacity (and the opening of the 2nd film is the ending of the 1st film). Beyond that there's really no connection. It's almost like a Marvel movie, in the bizarre way that all Jorg Buttgereit films seem to take place in the same universe.

You may be able to catch the plot seeing just the sequel; but if there films interest you then you will definitely be missing out if you don't see the first one - it's a unique intense horror / arthouse film.

I've the Barrel dvd of Nek2 & like other's have said, i always found it the blackest of comedies. Stoked to get it on blu, though Id LOVE an edition similar to the Arrow edition of the first.

Cutting Moments (& the entire Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America triptych) would be a great addition to bluray, but Nacho's Aftermath is vital imo. I recently re-watched the dvd and whilst it's still beautifully shot & a fantastic piece of work, i really noticed how soft it looked. I thin it'd really look amazing with a solid restoration.

And Subconscious Cruelty did get a blu release. It's a French disc (here http://www.amazon.fr/Subconscious-Cr...A1X6FK5RDHNB96) and i'd love to upgrade my dvd, but 23 Euros is a little dear for my budget right now.

Just pre-ordered this bad boy via DiabolikDVD, just like I did with the first film.

Haven't seen it, so it'll be a welcome addition to my collection.
