I agree, the ability to turn off BD live content and disable the java crap. Also, I'm tired of having to keep a DVD deck to play the stuff BD can't. Why can't Sony BD decks play Divx, avi and mpeg files??? I have cheap DVD decks that can do it...

FYI, PS3 can read DiVX & DiVX-HD (AVI), MPEG formats, WMV & WMV-HD, etc.

Don't want a PS3.. It won't fit in my rack and all my equipment is behind wood doors controlled via IR extenders.

It may not fit on your rack, but bluetooth will go through the wood doors... just so you know. so that wouldn't really be a concern... but i guess the point is moot since you say it won't fit anyway.

My remote is a Pronto Neo and everything is single touch automated including lighting and screens. This is the way the wife and kids like it. I'm not about to pull out a another device to operate the PS3. I've come to far for that...

I don't think playing DVD or Blu-ray while downloading will be possible. It's a totally separated software that start and XBM ins't even available in that mode. You can tought, watch a Mpeg4/Divx on the HDD while downloading...
