So I pre-ordered on the Playstation Store so that I won't have to go out and stand in a line Sunday night and only get to play around 1am. This way I can hopefully get playing at 11pm Sunday night (CST). Glad that I didn't pay off my pre-order at Gamestop. I went for the Advanced Warfare Digital Pro bundle with season pass and extras.

I am also really hoping that I can pre-load the game before Sunday, and that I won't be stuck downloading the same game countless others are trying to download at the same time.

I was considering doing this but heard that when's there's PSN maintenance that you can't play digital download. I'm not sure if that's true.

Could be yeah, I am guessing that if the reason you are getting the game is for single player, then I can see that being a problem, but my focus is MP. So if the PSN is having issues, MP would be struggling anyway.

Yeah I heard there is a playlist that is Exo suit free. I probably won't play that way much, if at all, as the allure is the extended capabilities granted to you via the exo suit.

i know this is the ps4 thread but got a question pertaining to both systems...

they are saying if you purchase this digitally on ps3 you get it for free on ps4 as an incentive to upgrade...

my question is, what are the disadvantages to downloading the game vs owning the physical media....

besides the obvious of owning an actual disc vs not having it...

Yeah you can't trade it in, and as previously mentioned, there may be a situation where if the PSN is undergoing maintenance, that the game won't launch. Perhaps someone who knows for sure could comment on that. Still researching that.

I got the download so I can play early, and not drive to GameStop, stand in line, and drive back. I wanted to be able to play earlier than past midnight and without hassle.
