Movies are shot in a certain aspect ratio for a reason as dictated by the filmmaker. It's like giving people an option to watch the movie with a different soundtrack. It's not the real movie anymore.

I'm looking forward to the day when pan & scan movie presentation is dead and all movies are shown on TV at least in 16:9 if not their OAR.
