Se7en, because I first got the Alliance 1.78:1 release, noticed it wasn't OAR, then got the correct scope release later.

LOTR trilogy, because I first got the theatrical edition, then decided I wanted the extended edition, which make it a triple dip including the previous DVD.

Gangs of New York, because the remaster is way better on my big screen...

I can't ever pull myself to own more than one version. If a version comes out of something that I already own, but it has more features or new packaging with new features, or a combination of things, I sell off the original one first, then acquire the new one. I just can't own more than one of the same movie. That's just me.

I use to hate double dipping however with all the cool editions out there I kinda had some fun.

Matrix - Suitcase edition comes with sunglasses
blu-ray steelbook from Japan, Futureshop (Canada), France, digipack & the huge set with the statue.

Jurassic Park - 50 copies of the trilogy

Inglorious Basterds - Boxset from France, Steelbook from France & Steely from Futureshop

Singin in the Rain - Blu-ray set and the one came in the Gene Kelly collection.

Sometimes I look at it and think **** what A waste of money for double dipping.

I stopped double dipping. Had my fill after the Singin in the Rain set.

As for duplicates between Blu-ray and DVD, there's too many to even worry about trying to list. This thread is really about duplicate Blu-rays anyway.
I have to admit I did the same thing with the Bond set. I have dupes of my favorite Bonds which sadly ended up accounting for a good portion of the ones in the set. For the most part that is it in terms of blu-ray dupes....at this point anyway Now if they only re-release Never Say Never Again on Blu so I can complete my set I'll be all "Bonded" out haha.

The only one I am absolutely, unabashedly proud of is Miami Vice (both theatrical and director's cut)

The only duplicate of a film I have is Jackie Brown. I bought the single disc originally and then I received the Tarantino Xx Box Set as a Christmas gift.

Ugh. I have two.

Shrek 4 because i bought the 4th movie when I started collecting blu rays last august 2012 and then I bought the shrek complete set.

i also got Scarface Limited Edition Steelbook and the Scarface French box set. So 2 scarfaces but the French Blu ray is still sealed.

I'll probably double dip on the Dark Knight Trilogy once the Ultimate Versions come out. We'll see though.

Quite a few but the one most people would probably consider ridiculous is the amount Evil Dead/Army of Darkness that I have on different formats.

Ugh I just bought the trilogy box set for $22.99. I hope the ultimate version sucks so I don't have to re-buy the movies.

+1 I'd rather just use that money to buy another movie. I only need one copy.

I was compelled to buy the 2 specially-packaged versions of Django Unchained (Target steelbook and BB). A strange feeling of " I had to have them both" washed over me for those but I don't think it'll happen again (unless Shout decides to give up the generic/standard Blu-ray case rut and make steelbooks )
