Excellent movie and no it is not overboard...in fact it is accurate. That is the problem with movies they sometimes do think of details like that...in this case details that are a bit more obvious.

Apocolypto showed...like..National Geographic titty.

It was completely natural. I THINK that particular movie went a little overboard with the IMPALING, BLUDGEONING, and generally F'ing people up-icity....but that's it's charm!!!

Anyone offended by this movie CLEARLY needs to see The Brown Bunny and Irreversible.

(I'm not even going to mention the director's cut of I spit on your grave...it's not even fair.)

LOLOL .......... totally forgot about that movie. Wonder what the odds of getting "I Spit On Your Grave" on BD are??? I'll say, it's not Oscar material, but I'd say it's a classic!!!

To tell you the truth, I bought the movie after a conversation I had with a friend of mine...totally blind buy.

After I watched it I thoroughly cleaned my DvD player and took a shower.

I don't think I'll ever be clean

But yeah...I love this thread...it always makes be smile when I see it.

All I was saying about Apocalypto is that every scene showed boobs, nipples and butt cheeks. I saw True Lies too and I thought Jamie Lee Curtis over-did it when she was pole dancing. In Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, one never sees Janet Leighs nipples. This proves that great movies don't need to show boobs, nipples and buttcheeks to be effective.

Apocalypto went too far.

I'll conceed that great movies don't need to show nudity, but why can't you get over the fact that some great movies do, in context. How can you portray an aboringinal society realisitically without the naturalistic nudity. Having primitive jewlery taped to nipples, just so us North Americans can maintain our shame is not right. Do you have to shut your eyes when you pee?

The nudity in Apocalypto was appropriate for the movie because of the nature of the people.

I must have been kidnapped by Aliens while watching this movie. I don't remember any nudity. I should probably lay off the porn for a while.
