I agree that we need more Whedon/Fillion Firefly. It's just a pipe dream for us though, because the chances of it happening are slim to none.

There is no new show. Click the link I posted after. It's just the Science Chanel playing reruns of the original episodes.

Fox needs to admit they were wrong in canceling this, and just bring this show back. I am only dreaming, though, because Nathon Fillion is tied up pretty good with Castle. I love that show so I can't say that I want it canceled so that Fillion can go back to Firefly. If Castle is ever stopped then hell yeah I wont them sto start Firefly back up.

Guys, you got your information wrong. While it's true that Firefly is returning, the Science Channel is only airing the original series. There is no current plan to produce a new series. All of the details are at EW.com:

Oh, you're welcome. I just hate it when people start spreading unsubstantiated rumors about this particular television series. I actually love Firefly, always have. While I would love to see it return as a new series, I just had to post when I saw that everyone else was posting that a new TV series was coming.

The links I posted confirm that there is no new series coming, they just obtained the rights to broadcast the original 14 episodes series. I honestly think that Josh Whedon may just be waiting for Fox's rights to the show to run out before he decides to go anywhere with the series.

Thing is, that while Fox may have the current rights to Firefly, that they don't have any extended rights to produce a new series since Josh Whedon still retains all creative control to the series. The rights that Fox has will run out, sooner or later, and that's what everyone should be concentrated on.

I'm just glad to have the whole series, and the Serenity movie, on Blu-ray. Hopefully, Whedon can bring the original cast together and produce a new Firefly series after Fox's rights to the show have been reverted back to Whedon.
