I own a bunch of the double/triple feature packs....paid no more then $9.99 for the double and $14.99 for the triple, so at $5 a movie, it was a no brainer....

Most of these movies were only released together, so you have to buy both, which isn't bad, but most of them I only watched one movie off of it, but its still cheaper.

I prefer the individual releases, but I do have the hellraiser 4 movie combo because they aren't out in individual. As Well as The Last Boy Scout, I don't even know what the second movie is as I only bought it for that one. I also have the Halloween 6/H20/Resurrection but I just got the individual releases of them, so that can go on the trading block.

For the record, all the multipacks I own:

Alien Anthology
Back to the Future Trilogy
Batman Anthology
Battle Royale Collection
Blood Trilogy
Dracula/Wolf 2-pack
Children of the Corn/Hellrasier 2-pack
Clerks 2/Zack and Miri 2-pack
Crank/Crank 2 2-pack
Die Hard Collection
Dragon Tattoo Extended Trilogy
Exorcist (Theatrical & Extended)
Fantasia 2-pack
First Blood/Rambo 2-pack
From Dusk Till Dawn Series
Godfather Collection
Halloween: H20/Curse of Michael Myers 2-pack
Hannibal Lecter Collection
Hulk VS.
James Bond Collection vol. 1
Jurassic Park Trilogy
Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions 2-pack
Mummy Trilogy
Nightmare on Elm Street 2/3 2-pack
Omen Collection
Peanuts Holiday Collection
Planet of the Apes Collection
Scarface Steelbook (comes with DVD of original film)
Scream Set
Skull/Man Who Could Cheat Death 2-pack
Ultimate Avengers Collection
X-Men Trilogy

Now which of those "qualify" to the discussion, I'm unsure.
Plenty are box sets, and others are the exclusive releases of said titles,
so there's no other option on how to purchase them. But I listed every
non-single release I have.

Don't mind these at all. Especially if they are titles I don't particularly care for. I been diggin the WalMart ones that come with the metallic slips, picked up TMNT 1-3 and the one with 3 stallone movies.

+1.. i understand people want to save money, but the studios should give us the option of buying individual or double/triple features.. I'm OCD about how the spines look when displayed

I hate them, unless they only contain movies within the same series. I bought the "Lost Boys" triple feature, but that was it. And if there's a bigger and better option (such as the TMNT Pizza Box set vs. the TMNT triple feature, or the Ocean's Trilogy box set vs. the Ocean's Trilogy triple feature) I'll choose the bigger and better version every time.

Off the top of my head I have

Of course a couple of these are ONLY available as double feature, only Elizabeth could have been purchased as 2 individual blu-rays.

I have nothing against these type of sets, usually I prefer if the are films in the same franchise (like the few double features I have). But I could even overlook that if it was 2 or 3 films I actually wanted to see, and at the right price. I mean if price was the same I would obviously get single releases, but I look at the double/triple releases when the whole set is just as cheap or cheaper than buying just one of the individual releases. (i.e. I got Elizabeth for $9.99, Grumpy Old Men for $5, and Spaghetti Western for like $3).

The next one I'm looking at is the Stallone triple feature that has Cobra. It's not really a high priority or anything so I don't track it, but if I happened see it for $10 or less I would definitely grab it.

I purchased the V for Vendetta/Watchmen: Director's Cut/Constantine Triple pack. It's awesome! I only got it for V for Vendetta and Watchmen, though. I haven't watched Constantine and I don't really intend to because I've heard bad things about it.

I will say, it depends. Like double packs that have the sequels (like Disney's) I will buy. But if they combine a couple movies based on genre I rather not buy

Constantine is fun, and better than Watchmen imo.

I hate when studios do this...I think Warner Bros is biggest offender. How the hell can I alphabetize my dvds and BD's when they are like that?? Especially when the 2, 3 or 4 films have almost nothing in common.

The worst is what happens to covers. I'm a huge connoisseur of cover art and I hate how you get the shrunken or cutoff covers.

Films need to stand on their own!

EDIT: I like when this is done with trilogies or series and packaged in a super fancy deluxe digibook though (i.e. Smokey and the Bandit, Back to the Future)

No.

It feels like the MP3 compressed age to me. People have worked hard to make the films and they are then just shoved all together. I only own one because one of the films was not sold as an individual.

If they have the same special features as the single ones, why not? but as of this moment I haven't bought a double or triple pack

I have ZERO issues picking up triple packs for blu rays. I will definitely pick these up if the price is right! I own 2 of them...I have the Superman triple pack from Target that has Superman the Movie, Superman 2 Richard Donner Cut, and Superman Returns. I paid $15 for this at Target. The quality of the blu rays are nice, they each feature bonuses, and the triple pack case is very sturdy. I also have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pack that I purchased from Walmart for $15. The quality of the blus are pretty good (#2 and #3 could be better, IMO) and the case is sturdy. No issues for what I paid for it. Come 11/13/12, I will definitely grab the Stanley Kubrick triple pack that has 2001, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining. I will buy this because of the positive experiences I had with the above 2 purchases.
