I paid close to $25 for Deathly Hallows Part 2 by itself on release day, so having part 1 thrown in is a good deal. However Part 1 was never shown in theaters in 3D- both were converted anyways, but the conversion job on Part 1 was considered not good enough to release in theaters and I've heard the 3D Blu-Ray likewise doesn't look too great. Part 2 was however released in 3D originally.

And yes, $25 for two 3D films is a great deal. |

Of course, Lionsgate has had the double-feature of Spy Kids 3 and Shark Boy and Lava-Girl for about $15, and those were originally released in crappy red/blue 3D and re-done in real 3D for Blu-Ray. This is definitely a step in the right direction though, and needed after Di$ney's recent screw-ups with 3D and the bad press 3D got after this year's CES.

Yep. With very few exceptions (and I really do mean very few), 3D Blu-rays include the 2D version as well. |

![]() But some help for others looking online, the Journey pack is not currently there for whatever reason. What they have listed as Journey (SKU 3200078) is actually Clash/Wrath of the Titans (which matches with the picture shown in the online ad viewer, though the name is off there as well). I was getting both, so didn't matter to me, but could affect others. |

I picked up all four of these a week ago, but waited to open them till I was able to PM the $24.99 in this weeks' ad. I assumed these were just repackages of the individual releases to clear stock, and I was right, but they aren't just the releases thrown in a slipbox! Here are what mine contained... I'm guessing there may be many combinations out there!
Legend of the Guardians / Hugo Legend had just two discs, the BD and the 3D, but no DVD. The UPC matches the database entry here, which lists 3 discs. Hugo had the BD, 3D and DVD discs, but had the cover art and UPC for the 2 disc re-release. No DC sheet however. Also, one of the tray clips was broken. Clash / Wrath of the Titans Clash only contained the BD and 3D discs, no DVD, but has the same UPC as the 3 disc version listed in the database. Wrath was the full 3 disc version and included the DC sheet. Journey to the a Center of the Earth / Journey 2 Journey was the same 1 disc release. Case was cracked and pushed through the cover art (two copies!) and tore both of them. Might get it exchanged. Journey 2 had the BD and 3D discs, but no DVD; UPC matches the 3 disc release. The case has extra tall hubs for stacking, so could have held the DVD. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 / Part 2 Part 1 only had the BD, 3D and BD features discs, but no DVD; the case was thin and only had 1 flip tray and a hub on the inside back, so could not have held 4 discs. The printed UPC was the Best Buy exclusive, but had a UPC sticker on the shrink wrap that matches the wide release. Broken flip tray clip. Part 2 had all four discs in a wider case with 2 flip trays. Again, the printed UPC was the Best Buy exclusive, but had a UPC sticker on the shrink wrap that matches the wide release. So in each case, at least one of the two releases in the slipbox was an oddball that doesn't match any of the database entries here. Of course, WB could have issued later pressings without DVD's, etc, and no one noticed or made entries for them. It is definite these are store returns that have been re-shrink wrapped in some cases and then packaged in the new slipbox. It would be interesting to see what other people get inside! |

Journey 1 is just the 1 disc, but Journey 2 is the full 3D/BD/DVD with UV. BTW.... at my store, they are back near the 3D TVs. Thanks to the person in the Best Buy ad thread for pointing me in the right direction. |

Both movies were shot in digital 3D, its just at the time of their respective theatrical releases the Chinese6 was the only theatre in the u.s. that was equiped with Real D |

They had been working on the conversion but it was going to take longer than they initally planned for to do a good conversion. so rather than throw a rush job conversion into theatres, they decided to instead just give part 2 the theatrical release in 3D, and take their time finishing up the conversion on part 1 for an eventual home video release. What I wish we would see at some point though are 3D bluray releases of Order of the phoenix and Half blood prince. (which had about 20 mins of 3D footage for their respective IMAX releases.) Heck I would also like to see WB do a 3D bluray release of Superman Returns as well (with the 3D IMAX sequences as well) |
