House of The Dying Sun
Awesome old school spacesim, no open world or newtonian physics nonsense, your emperor is dead and as a surviving member of his personal guard you are sent on a series of hit and run attacks against the traitor forces to avenge his death.
Doing bonus objectives grant you favor points to spend on upgrades for your ship and later for your fleet, fleet that you can order around adding a tactical aspect to the game.
The game is made to work with a gamepad or mouse and keyboard but if like me you have a joystick or even a HOTAS you can rebind everything in-game to make it work.
It was made mostly by one person so it's on the short side but it costs only $20,00/€20,00 and while it's early access the game is well polished, lacking only the "wave clear mode".
You can find it on steam, either buy it there directly or buy a steam key from the official website.

Also, if you have the money for an expensive VR set you can use it with the game through steamVR.

Dragon Age Original. Best game ever made. The plot is very creative and full of surprises and hard choices. All characters have well-established personalities. I’ll try DOI or DO2 next.
