Shame the photo is so low res, there seems to be something going on with the nose of the jolly roger that you can't make out, some logo within a logo I guess.
Looks like the logo for an OP game. They could've done a more realistic logo.

They failed with Dragon Ball and One Piece might be in the same situation, it's not something easy to bring into live action. You got long/stretched arms, huge fists, auras, fish characters, huge characters, etc.

I still don’t know how well One Piece will ever work in live action, but honestly? The cast is pretty darn good. I’ll keep an eye on this, see how it starts to shape up.

The cast is surprisingly well chosen, but it's down to the production design on if they screw it up or not. It's there's too loose

Let's see Netflix do this

They failed miserably with Cowboy Bebop so I'm not hopeful they'll do a good job here. I'll still check it out.

That trailer looks and sounds awful, Netflix will probably cancel after the first season. lol

Good god that looks bad. Music is pretty good though! The cinematography looks ghastly, could be that the editor of the trailer is just an idiot, but the combination of the trailer being a succession of close ups with no extras anywhere and the horrid, extremely shallow focus just screams out "filmed on the cheap".

Just take a look at other Netflix shows and how they turned out. Like... Cowboy Bebop. lol

I think japan would have been better off doing a series or a one-off movie on their own rather than teaming with Netflix

There's not really much point in Japan as the anime and manga make so much money a live action adaptation is kinda pointless, and even they would struggle to pull One Piece off given the enormity of the story and the ridiculous amount of CGI you'd need to do it justice on just the visuals alone.

It's just one of those properties that either someone with a tremendous amount of talent comes along and makes it their own (altering it radically in the process so it works in a shorter form) or you're on a hiding to nothing.
