The Audio default is French DTS HD MA 7.1, but it also has the original English DTS HD MA 7.1 track choice that defaults with French Subtitles, but the subtitles can be turned off as a choice.. So I want to buy at least one bluray 3D movie as an import which would be a first for me. Specifically "Our Universe" in 3D. I live in the US which is region A I believe. Basically I want to know what to expect if I buy a movie from Amazon UK or anywhere other than the US. I know it's a long shot that anyone here has bought "Our Universe" specifically but what can I expect if I buy other common movies outside of my region code? For example, I would like to purchase King Arthur 3D from the U.K. But it's listed as region B on bluray.com. Some have said that the large studios such as Warner release region free blurays even though its listed as B. Is it worth the risk to import? Currently I am using an Xbox one S as my player but I'm shopping players right now. I just hate being restricted by my location as there is so much great content available outside of the US. If you can provide any advice I would be GRATEFUL for it as this is very confusing and I would love to avoid losing money to a careless investment. Thanks very much for any advice anyone can provide in guiding me towards successful importation of 3D blurays😎

Thanks for that explanation. I will probably take a chance and order "our universe" just seems like it would be a really cool 3-D experience not to mention I love anything that I has to do with outer space. I was just scared off when it said it will not play in a standard US DVD player. Says a multi region PAL/NTSC DVD player is required to watch in US/Canada. I figure, worst-case scenario, even if it doesn't turn out to be region free I will be able to play it when I buy an all regions dedicated player. That is if there is such a thing in the UHD player market.
Have you or anybody ever heard of the ten disc "our world and beyond 3D collection"? |

Thanks for the info.
For outerspace, if the camera was set to that of natural, human vision, the planets and stars and hydrogen gas fields (seen via infrared light) would all appear mostly flat, since the scale is so enormous compared to a human's distance between the eyes. Now an outer space Imax 3D Camera rig, if it was recording in 3D the real universe, might be able to separate the distances far enough to make the planets appear in 3D, with medium to strong 3D, which could never appear that way to human eyes. But that's all if based on reality, so it's a good thing these documentaries of CGI outer space take liberties with the 3D and increase the 3D strength to more interesting levels. Just proof that realism in 3D does not make for exciting 3D in every case. |

Looks like a neat set but I already have most of those as individual discs. Will have to hunt down the few I'm missing from it. I've never seen a region-locked Universal Blu-Ray, and these titles have a TON of different languages on them too so they likely just made one disc for the entire world.

I'm pretty excited to start exploring my options outside of the US. I'm an Oled owner and they really knocked it out of the park with the passive 3D in 2016. I'm around 120 bluray 3D movies before this last purchase but I'm running out of quality options here in the US. Importation opens a bunch more doors to allow me to further my collection. Also, I avidly shop UHD but sometimes it's hard to decide between it and 3D. Often times I end up double dipping but it's a serious hit to the wallet. Now, with the option to import, I can shop for combo sets like Spider-Man homecoming and Wonder Woman which are both available as combos but not in the US.

So I received my ten disc 3D collection last Friday. Of course the first thing I did was quickly insert each disc into my Xbox one S and every single one played perfectly. I did watch most of "Our Universe" and was very pleased with the 3D and video quality. Everything from product quality to shipping efficiency was excellent. Ten 3D bluray discs for $25 shipping included is an amazing deal and it didn't turn out to be too good to be true. Thanks again for everyone's help.
