The Shout transfer is the same element as the MGM Blu (IP) but it is a nice, though subtle, upgrade.

Oh I see. Thinking back on it the interviews for the Mad Max disc might have been done by Ballyhoo explaining their availability to Kino.

Kind of wish the new MGM discs Kino is doing were of titles that badly needed new restorations.

This is certianly another unexpected surprise!

Shout's BD was a 2k scan of the IP and not the same transfer as the MGM and Arrow Blus.

Of course, Kinos 4k HDR will probably be based off the OCN.

I think "That just leaves the 2 previously released 80s titles to be announced later, both are getting new 2K scans by KL and will include the previously produced extras and hopefully some new ones." is entirely separate from UHDs though they did state that three of their upcoming, non-Dollars, UHDs will be SDR discs (though it remains to be seen if they're derived from a 4K scan or upscaling from a 2K workflow master).

They may have considered this more sci-fi than horror (it's really both), but it's still a welcome announcement. I was one of the last to get the Scream Factory edition (still with a slip no less), and will be hanging onto that, especially if none of the new extras carry over. I'll only purchase this if it's a substantial upgrade.
