Even the spots we all know from 20+ years playing or the ones UE created all still work lol hard to tell about polish cause gears of war has its own unique BS factors where you could hard aim and shoot someone and not get them down lol so but seems the same as always

Nice to see so many new games I think I've seen one or two people I knew from UE in lobbies but tis 90% new faces so some fairer comp for new people vs. if you just bump into the elite try hards running stacked teams and spawn trap you.


Looks like some new menu features and the HDR settings brightness all new but like overall the guts are 100% UE polished up with cross play

That's great to hear although with all the new players i do wonder if they will have a much easier time to maybe try more skill based matchmaking with the Reloaded game release than say the hardcore only players still carrying on the mantle from before.

Personally i remember when Fortnite came out, i got decent and good and then overtime all the tryhards were everywhere and anywhere making it a lot harder. Even worse when i lost the Back Button attachment with paddles because it makes shooting, building and jumping a lot harder. Things did get slightly better when the No Build mode came out though and there's more modes now too.

Hoping there’s a chance Microsoft will release Forza Horizon 5 physically still. Waiting for a while yet in hopes they’ll release it that way. Otherwise I’ll have to eventually cave and just download it.

We still don't know if the physical release will actually contain the game. Microsoft's other recent releases (Indiana Jones and Doom) barely had anything on the disc and required a massive download.

Just the nature of gears though like 1 good player can dominate especially fi that person can grab a power weapon or if theres 4 decent playiers working together vs. 1 or 2 good players and two crap players then the team can win really just depends on the maps too.

So you'll still jump in those meat grinder teams where it's just a crap team vs. a good team/ player and take L's but if the beta player base is any indication it won't be like if you fire up UE where its all the same kids who've played since 2006 Gears1 working together to run up stats.

Gears of War: Reloaded beta weekend 2 is about to begin tomorrow evening, and prior to this second and final beta test for the upcoming remaster, developer The Coalition has announced some extra goodies for fans to get stuck into.

First and foremost, this second beta period will be slightly longer than weekend 1. The upcoming test now runs from 12pm PT on June 20 to 9pm PT on June 22, with the beta carrying into the early hours of Monday morning in certain regions.

Alongside this time extension, the team has also revealed that the classic Execution mode will be making its way into beta weekend 2, alongside King of the Hill and a batch of fresh maps; both of which were already announced. Again, all of the content details are viewable in our big Gears of War: Reloaded beta guide up above.

This is great news for PS5. I always wondered about owning these Gears of Wars games. I would have if 360 was reliable as a console that first version of it. I think that console's unreliability really hurt MS long term. Along with their announcement of XB One requiring internet check ins every 24/7 to play games offline. The fallout from that was swift and damaging. They removed that "feature"/Punishment to gamers, but it was too late. Many switched to PS4.

I guess many XBox gamers look at the XBox now as more like a PC, where everyone can enjoy the MS games on it, not just one console's gamers. Sony has taken that point of view to a large degree too, releasing their Sony PS5 exclusive games to PC, which XBox gamers have access to now like Spider-Man 2.

eh I mean mine lasted like 2+ years before I got Red rings and then got a free one with better features from Best Buy as a replacement so no harm no foul.


I've always had both so I've never viewed one better or worse but I do play with more friends on the Xbox so I'm on that way more.

Honestly games I really like I'm glad I have both so I can go unlock everything on the other console as well

I got MS to send me 3 refurbished replacements for free. My 360 was pristine, and what do they send me? A scratched up, beat up replacement that also burned out. And then the next one. And the next one I just traded in towards credit for PS3.

Maybe you had bad luck with the timing? IIRC, Microsoft made significant design changes to the 360 in 2009, which dropped the failure rate significantly. My first 360 died from RROD in 2009/10 (can't remember exactly) and the replacement I got still works too. But I presumably got an improved model. If your 360 failed in, say, 2007, it's not hard to see why you might keep getting failing models.

If you'd have shown this to people back during the PS3/360 era, you'd have been burned on the stake yet 2 generations later.

Yeah the 1st one it was all done via MS.... But the others I had issues with best buy just refunded with warranty which was funny cause you'd spend 400 come back a year or two later and the systems were under 300 lol so you'd get a new system with an extra 100+ bucks

I think they ultimately switched up how they did refunds on that after it became clear what was happening.

Overall I think I went through 3? between launch and xbox 1

Pretty horrible start to the game. The hit detection I guess cause of cross play is nothing like UE version that was perfectly balanced and smooth. It's really all over the place which probably won't be noticeable to the PC/PS guys who might be touching the series for the first time but its almost as bad as gears2 launch for 360.

the movement also seems laggy compared to UE so hopefully an update can fix it but pretty bad first impression to new people trying it

Also the PS/PC guys don't know how to play the maps so if theres 2 decent even mediocre Xbox long time players on another team you lose your lives in TDM so fast cause of the horrible new players it can hold even the best single players down.

Yeah I've never seen it this bad you boom the floor and a guy doesn't go down very inconsistent shotgun bullet pattern lol just a total mess of hit detection I've not seen them deliver since maybe gears 4 launch? and Gears2

But for a studio that did so good on UE and got it so right you'd have thought this was a real easy copy and paste...To have this be the 1st exposure for the PS boys and some PC players really sucks for the franchise

They also again fragmented their player base with too many gametypes its not cod where 10m people play this its like your'e lucky if 1m people keep playing

I wonder if it's as bad as you say on PC and Xbox. Digital Foundry had a video up for the PS5 version (I skipped around a lot on it) and they seemed to indicate that this particular version is based off of an unreleased PS4 port and not the original Reloaded because Unreal Engine 3 was never officially ported to PS5. They only covered the SP campaign.

I mean I was top 300 in gears 1 on 360 and top 100 and played with the most of the pros prepping for torments on UE/GOW4, top 1000 in gears 3... I have a pretty good handle on what it should be not to say there aren't fluke deaths or issues everyone has with this game but this is beyond that

Would make sense why it's so odd compared to UE if it was some old left over ps4 port or a different engine.

Campaign has normal movement and is perfectly fine it's when you get into online where the hit detection is all over the place and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Like 2hrs on UE or even the original 360 game and 2 hours on this you'd pretty quickly notice the stark contrast

But again I'm coming from playing with try hards and sweats so some random stumbling across it might not care or notice but it could be better for them too
