The article didn't even say that it was 2 years out. It just said Nolan signed a deal to direct another movie that he wrote for a 2010 release. You are just assuming that batman will be then. It could be longer before we see another batman.

The article that I read said that "Inception" would be the name of the film he's releasing, and that it's not a Batman film.

But look at it this way, Batman Begins came out 2005, The Prestige 2006, and The Dark Knight in 2008. If Inception comes out 2010, then maybe Batman 3 will be 2012 by the very latest...?

I'd say by the very earliest. That will give Christian Bale four years to make up for his temper tantrum on the Terminator crapfest coming out this year.

How old will Bale be by then?

I don't mind Batman movies keep coming out, but at the same time Bale is getting older like all of us. Hell I'll be 32 in 2012. Could Batman be done if 'Bruce' was in his 50s? Just thinking out loud.

Very true regarding the film that is referenced in the article. 2012 appears to be a good guesstimate.

He'll be 38.

Christopher Nolan could film paint dry for 2 hours and probably find a way to make it utterly captivating. I'm really looking forward to Inception.

With Chris Nolan directing Inception for a summer 2010 release, this will give him a break, much like The Prestige did, allowing for a well developed (hopefully) third Batman film. Can't wait for the next 2 summers. So many good movies coming out.

Ya there's something I like about actors and directors doing side projects (they may not always turn out small, ala The Prestige) between the huge blockbusters. This has definitely been beneficial to Bale and Nolan, I don't think it hurt Jackman or Smith either, and I'm sure there's plenty of other cases. I guess it helps discourage the laziness that might creep into a series of blockbusters? It's not a guarantee though.

I'm not worried about his age. I'm more worried about him doing so many films and stressign himself out...

Of course, Nolan could just wait for 20 years and then make "The Dark Knight Returns".

Would be cool. Won't happen. But it would be cool.
