If you adjust for inflation, Shrek 2 is still WAY ahead, and Finding Dory still hasn't passed Finding Nemo or Toy Story 3 (Although I expect it to pass one or both based on its current performance), though it did pass Frozen.

Shrek 2 is unlikely to be dethroned just yet. Its 2016-dollars-adjusted take was just over $615,000,000.

Two Die Hard references? I figured since Ed O'Neil was in the movie, they would throw in some Married...with Children references. Maybe Hank was married to a red headed Octopus named Peg and he had two ungrateful kids named Bud and Kelly. Maybe he worked in a lady Octopus shoe store.

Bit late to the party but I finally caught this yesterday after all of the bad reviews Suicide Squad got + the dumb delays I ran into trying to see this. And man, am I glad I did. Such a fantastic sequel to what was already a great movie. It's doesn't top the original (some characterization I found to be a bit weird and it's not as grand in scale as the first one) but everything, from the voice work and writing to the pacing and soundtrack, was so well executed that any problems I had with it were completely overshadowed.

Random thought but what's with Disney having mentally challenged side characters as comic relief? We got Becky in Finding Dory and then Heihei in Moana.

I thought they were far from funny. Rather I found them quite irritating.
