I would love a re-release. I've put off buying the movie because it doesn't have any special features. I already have the 2-disc special edition DVD and want to be able to replace it, not just keep it in addition to the Blu-Ray.

I picked up Predator for $5 so I cant complain about the lack of special features at that rpice.

It will probably be the same movie with a slip cover and coupon/ad to see the new Predator movie.

I would double dip if they make a significant improvement in the PQ/AQ, but I doubt that'll happen. I won't re-buy just for extra features. I never watch them anyway.

But you know, the thing about Blu-Rays that I love, is the amount of space on the disc itself for the movie, AQ, PQ and extras. I find myself watching the extras more often if they're on the same disc. I end up watching the extras anyway, but I'l definitely watch them more if they're on the same disc.

I also think they need to get a more up-to-date look back at the making of Predator. Cuz at the time the 2-disc edition came out, it was 2003 and the extras were from 2001. Maybe a few updates to the special features would be cool

the point is, it wouldnt be enough of an upgrade that you would want to rebuy it if you already have it. there isnt enough room for an improvement to even make it worth remastering.

The original film master is gonna need restoration. Then a new transfer.

Of course its 20th Century Fox, so I'm sure they'll find a way to mess it up.

You bet it can. I have a remastered criterion copy of Beauty and The Beast by Cocteau. They did it one frame at a time. I cant believe the way it looks. I also had an earlier copy - grain and scratches. It can be done. If you can go to the moon, you can remaster a movie

If you don't mind importing, the Australian and UK versions of MOF have all the extras that were on the DVD editions.

I hate to sound like a pain in the ass, but I think it was obvious from day #1 that this was a big candidate for a re-release with all the extra features from the DVD edition.

Would make most sense though to be released when Predators is released on Blu-Ray...maybe a double pack.

I didn't even know there was a new Predator movie coming out until I read this thread! Awesome! I actually liked AVP2, but unfortunately lack of starpower and marketing hurt the film. Releasing it on Christmas was the absolute worst thing to do!

There's a big chance that it will be re-released because it will be released in Russia on 22th of July marketed as 'Predator Ultimate Hunter Edition'.

I already have my Predator Ultimate Edition. I used a three-disc case, put the two DVD's from the Collector's Edition DVD inside as well as the Blu-Ray and there we have it - Ultimate Edition Predator.

So, lets see if I've got this straight: it would be IMPOSSIBLE to go back to the original negative and do, say a 4k remaster? And even if it was POSSIBLE it wouldn't matter? Wow!
