My girl is pretty much the same way. As long as I get a few titles that she likes everything is okay. I bought 10 titles over the past few days, got Dracula, Surf's Up and Freedom Writers for my girl and everything is kosher.

Growing up Halloween was my favorite scary series, but I don't think the BLU beats out a upscaled SD enough to warrant a buy. I may get Robocop eventually.

But the BOGO was a perfect time to get all the titles I was on the fence about, like The Wild, Sky High, et al.
I picked up Halloween and have watched it a couple times and let me say I think it looks f...... great. Upscaled and bd are 2 different creatures.

Ok guys so I'd thought I'd share my experience at circuit city and best buy today

I went into Circuit City looking at their HD-DVD titles since I heard they were having some of them BOGO. I asked an employee about it and they said they would be since they blu-rays were. So I got a couple and went to check out. The lady at the register was all like yeah they will work but the computer wasnt letting her. So she overrode the computer and I ended up getting the HD-DVD titles for 7.50 each. So i was completely dumbfounded that I went back and grabbed more and more.

Ended up getting:
Mission Impossible 3
Space Cowboys
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon 2
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Batman Begins
The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Supremacy
Transformers

All of these were 7.50 except for transformers which rang up 15 since it was 29.99. But she gave me all titles that were marked 24.99 for 7.50. I think she made a mistake but oh well I was happy as hell.

Then I went to Best Buy b/c they had more Blu-rays to choose from and ended up talking to the nice manager who told me he would override the price of the 34.99 movies and give them for 29.99 and BOGO.

So i ended up getting:
Halloween
Superman: Returns
Ice Age: the Meltdown
The Day after Tomorrow
Wyatt Earp
The Untouchables
TMNT
Night at the Museum

all for Buy one get one free

all in all i think i ended up paying less than 200 dollars for 18 movies. I think im going to try to go back to Circuit City and see if that same lady is working to get some more blu-rays. Maybe she will give me the Blu-rays for 7.50 each if they are 24.99. I never tried that since they didnt have the initial titles i was looking for but for 7.50 each what the hell right?

When I told her that, she (not being technical or knowing A/V stuff by any means), said:

"Oh, it's just HD DVD."

I gave her a big kiss.

Dam, I seriously can't stop buying these dam things!! I look and can't resist the price. How do you not buy a blu ray for $10?? Renting alone is like half that. I bought my PS3 about a month ago and was going to buy movies slowly, when I saw a good deal, lol. Well, now I own 17 blu ray movies!!!! Guess my collection is on its way.

After getting jnsb sb and haunted mansion i went to target and got apocolipto and wild hogs so bought 4 but 2 were free.

If i had purchased them both it would've been $60 but sience i get some discounts rx credit card and enployee can be stacked so it was only $25.

So far my go to place for bd is amazon which sells them cheaper than target even with my 10% off everyday...that's why i like to get 18% rx rewards+regular-tax still gives me almost 20% off.

I regularlly see movies from disney @ $29.99 but amazon has the same thing @
$23.99 and being prime free shipping.

Also did the retail survey and picked deja-vu so this week even though dv is 2wks away i've got 3 free and bought 2. Sales are great.

*EDIT*
HA HA HA the upsidedown Blu-ray in the pic is Ghost Rider by the way.
What do you guys who buy this many movies in one week do for a living?! I need to think about a career change to support my blu habits.

The only time i got close to that many at 1 time was when dreamworks /para***** sold out and if i wanted there stuff it was speak now or wait...waiting is no fun so i grabbed them and am still paying that off.
They all came from amazon so i wasn't charged tax or shipping on any of it

Generally i wouldn't grab that many at 1 time enless 1/2 were free or they were pulling some i wanted...i felt like showing them what they were going to miss for those 18 months...$ales because if i really wanted it i'd get sd dvd before
even looking at hd-dud. In regards to HD i'm all blu.

Good, with all these people boasting their collections of 200+ Blu-rays I start to wonder if they're just buying to buy or actually give a crap about the movies. I'm gonna make a point of watching all of mine.

I could care less about boosting my numbers of movies owned. It's all about supporting Blu-ray and getting the movies I like in the best possible PQ and AQ avalible. I didn't post all the movies I bought to show off... I posted them to show everyone my support I have for our format. If I don't like a movie, I wont even think about buying it just to boost my film library #'s. I cant fathom why anyone would do that.
