Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the database has two collector editions listed. Is there a difference?

Not as far as I know, I think someone has doubled up, the Collectors has the steelbook in, there is no other variant in the UK.

One more silly question, will the UK edition feature both cuts of the film? I noticed that the listing has 127 minutes for the UK, but the US listing (was looking at the review) has it slated for 131 minutes?

Yes. There will be an extended cut and theatrical cut featured on the regular Blu-ray as well as the Collector's Edition. I'm not sure about the length of the extended cut but 127 minutes is the theatrical run time.

I've a horrible feeling, we're getting shafted on the extras with this one.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but based on artwork I've seen for the Nordic release, a lot of stuff isn't listed. Both cuts and the commentary are there, along with the 360 degree tour. That's it. Plus a boatload of language options.

They stripped the PiP track off of Battleship, so it's happened before.

Check out play or hmv. There is like a normal triple play which I guess would be a c.e release. But there is one for £28 which is a gift set

I ordered the US Target exclusive Show White cover.

Tired of companies here ripping the piss.

To answer my own question, according to this site, it has all the special features of the US release.

actually no. It does not list these:

Quote:
Audio Commentary: Director Rupert Sanders, visual effects supervisor Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and co-editor Neil Smith work their way through the film, touching on anything and everything that might arouse the curiosity of diligent listeners. Casting, performances, set construction, costume design, visual effects, and the adaptation itself are thoroughly examined, as are the tone, style and intentions behind the filmmakers' key (and not so key) decisions.

U-Control, Picture in Picture (HD): Somewhat short but informative bursts of behind-the-scenes footage, pre and post-production materials, and cast and crew interviews fill this Picture-in-Picture track, all of which fans will happily gobble up.

Second Screen Experience: A second, more interactive experience is available via your tablet or PC after downloading the pocket BLU app and syncing it with your playback of the film.

So the UK version is missing quite alot

Not missing anything for me. Never use Tablet or remote viewing. Wouldn't listen to Commentary for this. Happy to pay £13 from sainsburys for the movie and whatever extras we get.

Eh, it's not a film I desperately want to watch extras for, if at all, so this doesn't bother me.

Only films I have a strong interest in are worth watching when it comes to extras, such as James Bond, Alien or Star Wars. Snow White and the Huntsman is just another Hollywood popcorn flick, and isn't worth to have extensive extras, IMO.

We shall see when it's actually released but I note that commentaries (theatrical and extended) have been cleared at the BBFC.

I know they don't always end up on the discs just because they're cleared but the vast majority do; there's no point in paying for them to be cleared if you don't at least intend to use them.

I see. I've watched this film three times on BD (re-rented it recently so I could watch it with my neighbour who hadn't seen it) and not once have I had any desire to listen to the audio commentary. I'm not a fan of PIP stuff (I'm a grumpy old man who'd rather either watch the movie or watch the special features but not both at the same time. ) I've never had any interest in SSE (same reason why I don't care for PIP and "Maximum Movie Mode" type features).

So I guess I won't be missing much and would rather have the artwork and book instead.
