The disc will have an audio commentary by Director Randal Kleiser.

https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9461&page=

Play.com also lists the audio commentary and says the disc is region 0.

You're right. The Short Circuit Blu-ray will have an audio commentary by John Badham.

Play.com is wrong about the region, it's region B only....

According to the Second Sight website the aspect ratio is 1.78:1 1080p and there's a PCM 2.0 audio track. They also say that the disc is region free.

If it is truly region-free, I'd be all over it!

Great film, quite dark in places. I made my mom take me to the cinema about 4 times to see this back in 1986 or whenever it was.

The copy I'm looking at right at this moment plays back in my BD player when set to region A, so it is at least region A/B (haven't bothered to test C). Short Circuit is the same.

I've never seen the German release, but from what I've read this would appear to be a port of that release. In other words, it's a step up from the DVD but don't get too excited. (With that said the UK DVD release was abysmal; VHS quality, and that's not hyperbole.)

Yep, it's region free. As with Short Circuit, the UK PQ has a pleasing un-****ed-with appearance that won't have people showing it off as a demo disc, but it's all that the film can realistically deliver so I'm very pleased with it.

You're right about the UK DVD, it literally was a VHS copy slapped onto a disc!!

Sounds great then. One question though: I thought it wasn't coming out until November? Where did you pick it up?
