I watched it about 2 - 3 weeks ago with some friends and I was really disappointed. The PQ was definitely not 5/5. Some scenes look nice, the beginning looks nice but the ending was terrible. At times, the image looked like a DVD. And before anyone says anything, it was the BD that was in the player (or else DTS HD MA 7.1 wouldn't show up on the receiver).

Regarding the PQ, I am also one of those people who have had problems with the transfer. I recently updated my players firmware, I should really give it another spin. Although the same problems were seen when playing it back on my PC.

You can't really have an opinion on something provable. If the actual picture quality is graded, and proven to be sharper and more detailed than a DVD, then no amount of "opinion" can change the fact that it looks much better.

The film may look slightly better than a DVD....but that doesn't mean it looks great for a BLU. There are literally hundreds of BLUs that have PQ barely above that of DVD....even though on paper, their PQ should blow DVD out of the water.

This has been mentioned countless times by the pro and user reviewers on the site, and also many others. It's common knowledge that not all BLU transfers are created equal.

You guys must have some awesome (magical?) DVD's if they look almost as good as MI4 blu-ray. I just rewatched the end of that movie because of this thread, besides the standard black sky blockiness that I see in a lot of blus, it looked great. I admit the black blockiness is annoying, but I guess someone somewhere decided that would be a great efficiency addition..

Which version did you get? 2 or 3 disc?

Aaahhh so its a faulty disc issue? Well no wonder I'm not experiencing this, I bought the 2 discs set.

I also noticed problems with my 3 disc set. Makes you wonder why they discounted it to $9.99.

I wonder if there are any hard core collectors that have access to both the 2-disc and the Best Buy set and would be willing to compare the two.
